Earlier today, Oculus just announced the start of its shipment for the Oculus Rift Consumer Version(CV1). Kickstarter units will start arriving today followed by the first batch of pre-ordered Rifts that will start shipping mid-week. Oculus notes that those who pre-ordered will receive an email that their order is being processed 1-3 weeks before shipping and then another one when your payment method is cleared out and when the Rift is finally on its way to your doorstep.
The Rift CV1 is bundled with a sensor, remote, cables Xbox One controller, and Lucky’s Tale.
The Rift can only be ordered thru Oculus’ online store for $599 with a limit of only 1 per customer. However, there are bundles of Oculus Rift & a VR Ready PC from Amazon, BestBuy and Microsoft Store.
With the launch of Oculus Rift also comes the debut of 30 games that will be available on the Oculus Store. There’s lots of different genres available for everyone – from the free game bundled with every rift purchase, Lucky’s Tale to the highlight of the 30 games, EVE: Valkyrie.

Aside from games there’s also a growing catalog of video content. The Oculus Video for Rift also launches today with the support of 360° Facebook videos alongside with best of Vimeo and Twitch livestreams.
Oculus will also add standalone experiences such as Jaunt VR which already features hundreds of cinematic stories. The first two real-time animated films from Oculus Studio, Henry and Lost, will be free for a limited time only.
If you’re more of a photo person, then Oculus also has 360 photos to take you on a virtual tour with over 200,000 destinations.
Every Rift is also bundled with Oculus Dreamdeck. These VR vignettes are created using Unreal Engine 4.
Oculus also created a tiny alien world called Farlands that’s also designed using UE4. Farlands lets you experience disney-like animated world with exotic bugs, fish, and plants.
The Oculus PC SDK 1.3 is also launched and is available on the Oculus Development Center. The SDK brings Asynchronous Timewarp for the consumer Rift with native support on the latest versions of Unity and Unreal Engine.
