If you love awesome girls who play games (and I mean really play on a competitive level) particularly DOTA 2, then youรขโฌ™ll be glad to hear that the famous all-girl Singaporean DOTA 2 team PMS Asterisk* will be visiting the Philippines on May 11-12 for the Pinoy Gaming Festival (PGF) Summer Assembly at SM Cyberzone, North Edsa. I am so happy about this that I am cordially inviting you to panic with me! For those who donรขโฌ™t know them, I donรขโฌ™t understand why do you not know them รย Asterisk* was the first all-girls DotA (Defense of the Ancients) team in the world. It was founded in 2005 by furryfish and pinksheep (now inactive) and joined with PMS (Pandoraรขโฌ™s Mighty Soldiers) clan to become their Asian division representative in 2008. PMS Asterisk*รขโฌ™s active roster is composed of beautiful and talented girls namely Tammy Tang (FurryFish), Cynthia Sta. Maria (w4ndeRz-*), Siraya Sunpanich (Pinkle), Eliza Ong (Ms Jovial*), Ginny Tan (Ginny*) , Kimberly See (kimchi*) and Tao Meta (GREENBEAN*). You can read more about them in their website.
When I first read about the news, my initial reaction aside from the mandatory and expected รขโฌลOMG! OMG! OMG!รขโฌย squealing was to make way for this in my schedule. I finally have the chance to meet one of my favorite professional DOTA 2 personalities, Tammy รขโฌลfurryfishรขโฌย Tang! I am not going to miss this chance! I missed last yearรขโฌ™s PGF because of other commitments so Iรขโฌ™m quite hell-bent on attending this one! I now have the chance to meet such awesome ladies in the competitive world of eSports! I really, really want to meet them! I hope the consecutive usage of exclamation points is enough to stress my excitement and anticipation!
Of course, there are also other things to see and experience in this yearรขโฌ™s PGF Summer Assembly. There are tournaments and events for games like DOTA 2, Starcraft 2: Heart of Swarm, Crossfire and World of Tanks. The online qualifier for the DOTA 2 tournament is open to all Filipino DOTA 2 teams. The top 3 teams will qualify for the main event. There are 8 teams in total for the DOTA 2 LAN finals, 2 of which are said to be 2 invited international teams. You can head over to raputregaming.net for more information.
Aside from that, announcements also say that there may be other SEA teams to participate in the PGF Summer Assembly. When they say SEA teams, they mean professional teams, right? Is there any possibility for Tier 1 and Tier 2 SEA DOTA 2 teams to come to the Philippines? My little fangirl-y self wishes for Team Zenith. I know Orange is more likely to come over since theyรขโฌ™ve been here before a couple of times, but, hey, I can wish, canรขโฌ™t I? My chances of going to The International 3 in Seattle are little to none so Iรขโฌ™d be really, really, really happy if I get to meet iceiceice and YamateH at PGF. Someone grant this wish. Please? Iรขโฌ™m keeping my fingers crossed!
