Pokémon and adidas Celebrate 30 Years With a 12-Shoe Originals Collection

Pokémon is marking its 30th anniversary with one of its largest sneaker collaborations yet, teaming up with adidas Originals on a 12-shoe collection that spreads eight fan-favorite Pokémon across six different silhouettes. Rather than building the collection around a single shoe, adidas gives each Pokémon its own distinct design language, mixing lifestyle classics with performance-driven models.

Charizard’s Evolutionary Line Takes the Superstar

The Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard evolutionary line all land on the Superstar, culminating in a premium Superstar Vintage for Charizard. The Charizard Superstar Vintage features a wing-shaped flap across the eyelets, evoking Jeremy Scott’s winged adidas designs, while Charmeleon’s Superstar swaps the Three Stripes for 3D claws.

Three Takes on Pikachu

Pikachu headlines three separate pairs: a white Superstar covered in an all-over Pikachu print, a fuzzy yellow Superstar with textured uppers mimicking the character’s fur, and a matching Pro Model in the same yellow colorway.

Ghost Types and Legendaries Round Out the Lineup

Haunter and Gengar take over the Adistar Control 5 and Adistar XLG 2.0, respectively, while Mewtwo arrives on both the Samba OG and ZX 8000. Rayquaza closes out the collection on the Adistar Control 5 and the football-inspired F50 Tunit Mega, which is equipped with Megaride tooling.

Shared Details Across the Collection

Every pair in the collection features character artwork on the tongue tags and a Pokéball lace dubrae. The lone exception is the Mewtwo ZX 8000, which swaps in a Master Ball dubrae, a nod to the Legendary Pokémon’s status as the hardest creature to catch in the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue games. The collection marks 30 years since Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green first launched for the Game Boy in Japan on February 27, 1996.
