By now, we all know that Pokemon GO had already been released in select regions, earlier today, Niantic, finally released Pokemon GO to the US regions with the UK regions soon to follow. However some users have already managed to get their copies of the game regardless of the region they are in, through APKs and fake Apple IDs.

Some users have also been reporting that their games are not working such as having no Pokemon appearing or their characters not moving despite walking in real life (yes some people unfortunately had the mistake of thinking that you don’t need to walk), rumors have been circulating that Niantic may ban players who have the app but aren’t in any regions where the game has been released. With a recent tweet, by one user he advises players to uninstall the app or risk banning their devices (yes devices, not just the app), however he also stated that why he doesn’t really “buy” the rumor, he is not taking risks. One reddit user has also shared his experience with “Ingress”, another game by Niantic, stating:

“Not that anyone will read this, but as an ingress vet, I’ll throw my two cents in: please don’t spoof, or download the apk or register a fake apple ID to get it early for your region.

Niantic used to ban people for drift hacking, and it would be a shame to find many new trainers suddenly being banned. The process to get unbanned is long and arduous, and it’s not worth it.”

With also no word yet on the official PH release, most Filipino Pokemon trainers have resulted in getting the software from other sources, either way please be careful where you get your APKs and let us hope that Niantic and The Pokemon Company officially release the app in the Philippines so we can finally have nothing to worry about.
