Video card manufacturer PowerColor officially launched a new batch of hardware at a recent event held at The Lounge along Tomas Morato in Quezon City last Wednesday, May 23rd. The launch party also doubled as a community event where 25 lucky Facebook fans got to socialize and try out games running on PowerColor-powered demo stations. One demo station in particular had a multi-display setup and Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 running on it, complete with a racing control setup. Other games on hand included Street Fighter IV, Battlefield 3, and Street Fighter X Tekken.

Also in attendance were local gaming teams Philippine Aguilaz and PowerColor Mineski, who acted as witnesses to the signing ofthe partnership between PowerColor and AMD, which was pretty much the evening’s crowning moment. Parallel to that highlight, a Street Fighter IV tournament was held, with some PowerColor video cards up for grabs. Our very own Boss Mac was part of it, and according to him, the tournament, despite its small scale and relatively old featured game was “all sorts of fun and crazy.”

And to cap off the night, some lucky fans got to walk away with brand new video cards by way of a raffle held by the organizers. For more on the event, do check out our little photo gallery below.
