BitFenix has just announced the Alchemy 2.0 LED strips featuring magnets that allow them to instantly attach to your chassis making illuminating your PC an easier task. BitFenix has outfitted these strips with powerful magnets lining the strips to make attaching them easier and also reusable, removing the need for adhesives or special modifications in lighting up your case.
The Alchemy 2.0 magnetic LED strips are available in 5 colors as seen below and come in 120mm, 300mm and 600mm lengths and can be daisy chained via the connector included in the package.
Official Press Release
Alchemy 2.0 LED strips now make it easier than ever to illuminate your system thanks to powerful magnets embedded directly into the LED strip substrate – It only takes a minute to open your case, connect the alchemy strip to your PSU and attach it to your case!
Whether you want to simply illuminate your components with natural looking white light or give your system a cool color theme with either red, blue, green or purple alchemy strips, or illuminate the bottom of your case to give it a cool bottom glow, theres no faster and easier way to make your system look like a lean mean gaming machine.
Alchemy 2.0 magnetic LED strips are based on the same TriBright 5050 SMD LED modules used in our original alchemy LED strip lineup, but feature a number of improvements:
- based on popular demand we fine tuned the wave-length of the green LED strips to match the NEON yellow-green on High-End VGAs
- based on popular demand we added PURPLE as an all new color option
- For the easiest cable routing the 4pin component power cable features a pass through connector and is daisy-chainable, the LED strips themselves are daisy-chainable and we increased the length of the power cable to a generous 50cm
- On top of this, we embedded a small powerful magnet in the power plug itself so it doesnt pull down the LED strip, making cable management easier than ever.
Thanks to the flexible PCB carrier Alchemy 2.0 magnetic LED strips attach to uneven or round steel parts and can be installed around 90 degree angles reaching from the front of the case, to the bottom and then rear.

ayus to boss!
Mismowwwww
kaso walang orange… dhang
Gino Paolo Cruz orange low sales ah : /
we will continue to have sticky tape orange LED strips 🙂
Lol Gino, you got a huge-ass case that can fit a flourescent lamp wrapped with orange cellophane anyways haha
We might do orange and other colors for magnetic LED strips in future, at least limited quantity… all depends on market feedback 🙂
RGB unicorns is the future, man. RGB keyboards, RGB mice, RGB headsets, RGB profile pictures in Facebook, its an eventuality (y)
weeeelllll im not so sure anymore… people dont wanna pay extra, and RGB will always cost more than single color LED… and in the end most people buy WHITE and RED led strips, other colors are not that popular… WHITE looks absolutely AWFUL on RGB strips, and ive used several samples in our office and in the end… you always end up with one color for each build…
i personally found that RGB only makes sense if you want a rainbow color cycle thing… which looks cool but most people dont like it. Most people dont really like LEDs that much, unless its subtle, and from the people that DO like LEDs, most dont like this rainbow cycle thing… so im not sure how big the market for RGB LED strips is.
Phanteks has a model with RGB LEDs built in, right? and its not really popular… ¯(°_o)/¯
Dont get me wrong, i LIKE RGB led strips… im not sure if a lot of people are willing to pay extra for it… people these days match their components according to color, so if you buy all or most parts in one color, or paint them to have the same color, then you wouldnt want to illuminate it in a different color, right? You probably want WHITE leds cause its dark inside the case, and MAYBE some colored leds to enhance the color theme you went for…
but who is going to do an ROG build and then illuminate it green or blue or yellow? see what i mean?
So im not so sure anymore if in future everything will be RGB… i hope so, but in the end people vote with their wallets hahah
And from what I can see, few are voting for RGB on cases and LED strips…
I didn’t know anyone made them yet. That’s really insightful, thanks for sharing. True words, and I was sarcastically referring to the marketing hype anyways but seems like you guys already took some time into researching this.
of course! hehe
we talked about it before, so I did my homework, did some research and played around with RGB strips 😀
another thing is, with RGB strips you need a controller, that results in even higher price especially if you wanna do it right and dont want flickering and stuttering light changes… 🙂
