Yes, believe it or not, Sony finally created a phone that incorporates the PSP. Before anything else, this unit is not the PSP2. Billy already posted an update about the long waited PSP2 so I don’t think we should even mistake this ugly monstrosity as the PSP2. According to Engadget, this sony ericsson “PSP Phone” has these specifics:
- likely boasting Android 3.0 (aka Gingerbread)
- a custom Sony Marketplace which will allow you to purchase and download games designed for the new platform
- sporting a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 (a chip similar to the one found in the G2, but 200MHz faster)
- 512MB of RAM
- 1GB of ROM
- screen is in the range of 3.7 to 4.1 inches
- touchpad where the analog nubs are supposed to be
- no memory stick slot
- supports microSD cards
You can see below that the unit really resembles a lot like the ill-fated (and highly hated specially by me) PSP Go. As of this moment I’m still holding off my final comment on the matter till they release the price for this unit. After that– we shall see sony… we shall see…

PSPs and cellphones are like milkshake and burgers – they’re great as separate treats, but heaven help us if you put them together.
On the other hand, burgershake seems to describe my feelings for the PSP-Phone well – looking at it makes nauseous XD
IAWTC.
