After the first wave of Oculus Rift and HTC Vive pre-oders started shipping, Steam earlier today added a banner to its storeย homepage saying “VR is here”. If you open your steam you might also receive the sameย popup telling you that VR games already reached the steam store.
Clicking the link will redirect you to the SteamVR homepageย that features a video of the unboxing and a set-up of the HTC Vive for the first 30secs. The remaining parts of the video is a well done explainer for VR and some demos using the HTC Vive. below the video are links that navigate throughout the page to satisfy your curiosity about SteamVR.
Steam also features VR Games from different genres like Budget Cuts, Irrational Exuberance, The Blu, Arizona Sunshine, Space Pirate Trainer and many more. Steam also added VR filter in its store page for a hassle free sorting of VR Games you might like.
Steam didn’t forget about the Oculus Rift byย indirectly featuring itย by adding pics of the Rift’s package just behind their HTC Vive counterparts in its “What You Need” section.
Steam also included the “Got a Rift? Try out these games on Steam” which redirects you to Steam’s Oculus Rift store page.
The VR filter on Steam’sย store page which I mentioned earlier, can be found under the Games dropdown menu.ย Clicking it automatically redirects you to a listing of VR Games. Some of which are already on sale. Sadly, there’s no games yet for Razer’s OSVR headset.
If you want to try out the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and the OSVR, VRPH hasย a scheduled demo at UP and Ateneo for the month of Aprilย according to Christopher David, founder of VRPH. Please do take note that these are closed events and that the Universities may or may not allow outsiders to participate in the event.ย Go and follow VR Philippinesย to check out where and when will they demoย the VR headsets next.ย Virtual Reality Philippines (VR Philippines) is a community of virtual reality developers and enthusiasts dedicated to promoting the advancement of VR technology in the Philippines. VR Philippines aims to put the Philippines in the forefront of this exciting technological revolution.
