Square Enix released a pair of JPEG charts for their upcoming sequel Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy to coincide with their big PSP push for TGS. Now, we’re assuming that a good chunk of this is going to fly over a lot of people’s heads, ours included, but not all is lost. From what we can glean from these images, there are some pretty significant additions to the core Dissidia gameplay mechanic, and more.
The first image we have here is a chart explaining the basic mechanics of the game, which I’m sure everyone who picked up the original should be familiar with it by now. However, another section explains what seem to be assist attacks. By pressing L+square or L+circle, players can call in another character into play to perform assist HP and bravery attacks, respectively. The gauges below the HP bar determine which attacks are available for your assist character to perform.
Some neat extras in the first chart are shots of FF XIII’s Lightning in action and what could possibly be a glimps of Kain’s EX mode.
The second chart is a command list of sorts for the playable characters in the TGS demo. If you notice, there’s a portrait of each character’s respective assist partner right below their respective headshots. We’re not sure if assist partners are character specific or can be mixed and matched, though.
With all that said, we’re keeping our fingers crossed like crazy in hopes of Square Enix releasing the TGS demo to the public, pretty much like what Konami did last year with Peace Walker.
