Microsoft Windows 10, as we all know by now, is the newest operating system of Windows by Microsoft. It has been almost a year since they offered the free upgrade for compatible devices that are running genuine Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or Windows 8.1 Update. It’s a free upgrade since July of 2015 and will end on July 29, 2016. So you only have less than 48 hours left to upgrade for free otherwise, it will cost you US$119 to upgrade once the free upgrade period ends. On the bright side, that is still cheaper than buying a brand new Windows 10 Operating System that will cost US$155 for a Home Edition.
Many users of Windows 7 and Windows 8 are still hesitant to upgrade due to reasons. Though we find that the most common reason is “Change”. Like most of us, they simply do not want change. I have to admit it, Windows 7 was the greatest operating system but that was a couple of years ago and time will come that Microsoft will drop the support for Windows 7. It’s just a matter of time. You either adapt along with the changes or be left behind. Especially considering how fast technology evolves nowadays.
Should I upgrade to Windows 10?
Is the question asked by most who still uses Windows 7 or Windows 8. The answer? For us, it is a “Yes”. Why? Simply, we have to adapt along with the changes. Windows 10 have more pros than cons and we find that Windows 10 is better than Windows 7 in terms of different beneficial aspects to the user. For example, as many have said it, people gave Windows 10 a title and that is the operating system for PC gamers. If you try to Google “Windows 10 OS for gamers“, many different site testing and reviewing Windows 10 for gaming will appear. You will see that the top 5 results came from well-known tech sites and informative sites like Time.com, pcgamer.com etc. In which, all of them stated more pros than cons of upgrading to Windows 10.
For us, we decided to upgrade because of these three reasons:
-
DX12 is the future of gaming, exclusive to Window 10. and soon enough, professional application will be using DX12.
- As we all know and for those who does not know about it yet. DirectX is a software developed by Microsoft that talks to a PC’s hardware components and DirectX 12 enables a dramatic increase in visual richness through a significant decrease in API-related CPU overhead. You can check out Anandtech comparison of DX11 and DX12.

Free, who doesn’t want free stuff especially if it is an upgrade.
Conclusion
Overall, I’d say give Windows 10 a try before you regret of not upgrading while it was still a free upgrade. We loved how Windows 10 have evolved and performs well compared to the previous versions and editions. Lastly, please grab a legit copy. Stop piracy, piracy is stealing. Be ashamed.
