Lenovo and FIFA have announced that every one of the 48 teams competing at the FIFA World Cup 2026 used FIFA AI Pro, an AI-driven football analytics platform built to give every national team, regardless of budget, access to the same depth of tournament data and performance insight.

FIFA AI Pro analyzes millions of data points across more than 2,000 performance metrics, delivering reports, graphs, animations, and actionable insights within minutes to support match preparation and in-tournament decision-making.

A Knowledge Super Agent Built on Lenovo’s AI Factory

FIFA AI Pro is built on Lenovo’s AI Factory and its xIQ agent platform, functioning as what Lenovo calls a Knowledge Super Agent that coordinates multiple AI agents to process football data and generate rapid analysis. The platform can understand synonyms, multi-language queries, and hierarchical football concepts, going beyond simple stats to perform direct queries, multi-metric tasks, on-the-fly calculations, and contextual reasoning with adaptive fast and deep-thinking modes. Output includes football-centric visual widgets, video clips from the tournament itself, and 3D match recreations.

Leveling the Field for Underdogs

Lenovo and FIFA point to the expanded 48-team tournament’s run of upsets as evidence of the platform’s impact. Cabo Verde left the World Cup undefeated in regular time, drawing with Spain in its opening match and pushing eventual champions Argentina to extra time in the round of 32. Fellow debutants Curaçao tied with Ecuador, Congo DR drew with both Colombia and Portugal, England was held to a draw by Ghana, and four-time champions Germany were eliminated by Paraguay.

“The success of FIFA AI Pro at the FIFA World Cup 2026 has marked the beginning of a new era in match analysis and preparation,” said Arsène Wenger, FIFA Chief of Global Football Development. “By automating the search, organization and interpretation of vast amounts of match data and video content, the experts can now spend less time searching for information or manually cutting footage and more time focusing on what truly matters: performance insights, tactical decision-making and helping teams gain a competitive edge.”

Ken Wong, Executive Vice President and President of Lenovo’s Solutions & Services Group, framed the rollout as part of the company’s broader AI strategy: “At Lenovo, we are committed to our vision of Smarter AI for All and FIFA AI Pro is the embodiment of that; we are providing the same cutting-edge resources and analytical tools to all the teams who have competed at the FIFA World Cup. This has helped level the playing field at this unique tournament, where we have seen the challengers compete with the established favorites on the world’s biggest stage.”
