COLORFUL‘s enthusiast offering continues this refresh with their pair of VULCAN options for the RTX 4070 TI SUPER. The debut line-up of COLORFUL’s VULCAN coolers didn’t include a white version of cards and relegated that duty to the ULTRA variation which lacked the iGame Smart LCD screen and higher positioning in their product stack. This year, COLORFUL’s got white theme builders covered with their VULCAN W options which swaps the standard black and grey with white with with hits of silver. The card still retains the swappable LCD screen and all the good things that make this COLORFUL’s top-end line.

For this review we’ll be looking at the COLORFUL iGame RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Vulcan W OC 16GB-V. The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is easily the most stand-out release from the RTX 40-SUPER lineup with its larger 16GB video memory on a 256-bit bus running alongside the larger AD103 silicon.
COLORFUL is sticking to a single variation of their VULCAN for the RTX 40-SUPER lineup, retaining the manual push-button for switching to the OC BIOS which arrives deactivated out-of-the-box. The OC BIOS bumps up the power limit and injects a factory OC, jacking up the boost clock to 2680Mhz. With its massive cooling, this should see boost clocks going higher as long as cooling permits. We’ll see how this translates into actual performance in this review so read on to find out more.

Closer Look
As part of COLORFUL’s high-end series of graphics cards, the COLORFUL iGame RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Vulcan W OC 16GB-V features a large cooler. This version is done in white as denoted by the W in the model name but both black and white models will share the same spec and performance. Just like most RTX 40-series cards this year, this card’s cooling is over-engineered and will keep the COLORFUL iGame RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Vulcan W OC 16GB-V at very good temperatures even at low fan speeds.
The COLORFUL iGame RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Vulcan W OC 16GB-V features white treatment all the way to the heatsink. COLORFUL opted to not use white on the PCB as well, but kept the PCB well-hidden to obscure any black parts from view. Hits of grey and red break up the otherwise white and black affair of the card although I do feel the backplate could’ve kept things to a mininum in terms of aesthetic details to keep the white theme clean in contrast to its black version.
iGame Smart LCD Screen
The iGame Smart LCD screen an optional part but is obviously a big part of the presentation for the Vulcan series of COLORFUL iGame products even way back since the earlier Vulcan models. The iGame Smart LCD requires the iGame Center software for customization of the LCD screen to display information as well animation and short videos.
For graphics, its best to design yours specifically for the LCD screen as its very wide and narrow like online banners. Most forum signatures work great especially animated ones. Besides video, you can loop thru other screens to display system information like temperatures, clock speeds, etc.
Power Draw, Temperature and Clock Speed Analysis
Given that most cards will boost all the way to their highest potential, the numbers we see here should be a good indicator of what to expect from these cards in general. Results are captured via inline power metering instruments primarily Powenetics v2 by Cybenetics/Hardware Busters for accurate card-only data capture.
Occassionally, we use PCAT v2 (or v1) for FrameView-related functionalities. Powenetics v2 is the modern iteration of our original Powenetics system licensed from Cybenetics Labs and allows more thorough read-outs for the entire system including the CPU power, GPU power (+PCIe slot) and the system power overall. This removes the guess work from taking power readings from differing GPU APIs and provides consistent readings regardless of vendors.

Note: Proprietary technologies of NVIDIA like PCSS, HBAO+, and HairWorks work on AMD GPU’s BUT to maintain uniformity amongst GPUs, these have been turned OFF. Ray tracing has its own dedicared performance section. Upscaling technologies are covered in their own dedicated articles. Upscaling summary will be briefly presented in this section.
For this test, only the out-of-box normal mode will be tested. Most cards that have dual BIOSes for Quiet and Performance will be tested in Performance mode.
Notes:
- All data are gathered from exactly the same system, with exactly the configuration we list here. No data is reused from another system or from any variations. We gather data from only one system as indicated here.
- Graphics cards are allowed to heat up prior to benchmarking. Cooler graphics cards may boost higher than normal.
- Following up on the above, we try to enjoy the game and play a bit before proceeding to the actual benchmark scenario. This allows us to detect any other problems like stuttering, frame skipping, or any other problems.
- Games that receive graphical updates that affect performance like DOTA2 moving from DX9 to DX11, Rainbow Six Siege changing its detail presets, etc. will be retested completely.

Note: All tests were done on the OC BIOS which dials boost clocks up to 2680Mhz and increases power limits.

Average Performance
In this section we take the geometric mean of all the values for our games and display both for each resolution of performance for traditional raster and ray traced performance. We switched from arithmetic mean (average) due to the effect of esports games and their large FPS value on the overall average. The geometric mean shows us a more balanced view of overall performance across our tested games.

The chart below shows the overall ray tracing performance of the GPUs tested followed by individual results. The percentage next to the FPS result is the performance penalty of ray tracing enabled versus when ray tracing is off or what is also referred to as rasterization.

With the price changes coming after the launch of the RTX 40-SUPER, we’ve seen a decent drop in pricing across the board for NVIDIA’s cards and over half-a-year removed since the launch of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, we’re still supplies of the RTX 4070 Ti non-SUPER being sold despite being retired in favor of the SUPER. In terms of raw performance, while the 16GB of video memory made it a point of contention how big of factor that would play in performance, actual world experience will vary and overall performance isn’t as big of a jump. Still, up against its RTX 4070 SUPER sibling, it is a leap in performance.
By this point in time, the biggest deciding factor would be your options and given retailers’ feedback that the RTX 4070 Ti was their faster moving card in the first wave, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER may still hold on to that position thanks to the better pricing of current RTX 4070 TI SUPERs with higher-tier cards like the COLORFUL iGame RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Vulcan W OC 16GB-V managing a slight bump against other OC’d 4070 Ti non-SUPERs.
Ultimately, the choice between an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and an RTX 4080 SUPER is still still more than PHP10K+ (>$180), much like the gap between an RTX 4070 SUPER and an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. This gives much breathing room between options but sees older card models as well as AMD options offer alternatives.
If you want pure raster performance and dont bother with anything else, then the RX 7900 XT but for some reason, by the time of publications, supplies for the XT card are drying up to be replaced by the 7900 GRE which is positioned more to contend with the 4070 SUPER rather than the 4070 Ti SUPER. That said, the only competing option right now for the RTX 4070 TI SUPER is the RTX 4070 TI non-SUPER. Unless you can find the RTX 4070 TI non-SUPER for PHP10K less than the SUPER, the 4070 TI SUPER is easily the better choice.
Focusing on the COLORFUL RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Vulcan W OC and the Vulcan OC (black version), they’re easily a decent choice for those that like how COLORFUL adds embellishments to their cards. COLORFUL has had a unique appeal to them and with the VULCAN series cards, it sprinkles a swappable LCD that can be displayed on your desk as a HUD alongside card features like a powerful cooler and a factory OC to go with it. The choice will ultimately boil down to looks, and white version cards that are as decked out as the COLORFUL RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Vulcan W OC with the closest competing model being the blocky AERO from GIGABYTE as ASUS’s white TUF cards already start at PHP10k higher than the PHP59K average price of the COLORFUL RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Vulcan W OC.
Whichever way you look at it, most cards at this tier will perform roughly the same and anything on top of that would be cooling and build quality. While reviews from the west would vary depending on how they perceive COLORFUL’s Chinese origin, it can’t be discounted that we’re talking about the biggest local brand for GPUs in China and COLORFUL’s history in the internati0nal market has now been very solid so there’s no need to fret when it comes to the brands origin.
All in all, the COLORFUL RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Vulcan W OC is a great value card undercutting many of the other high-end RTX 4070 TI SUPER options in the Philippine local market. The only other choice would be COLORFUL’s non-iGame cards. Still, if you’re specifically intrigued by this card for your white build then the COLORFUL RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Vulcan W OC is a great choice.
