Introduction

COLORFUL quietly showed off their new iGame Shadow II DDR5 memory sticks during COMPUTEX 2025 and photos of it that went online gave it a small, cult following primarily due to its looks. Fast-forward a few months later and now the Shadow II DDR5 memory is ready to market and we have them right there. COLORFUL has revealed that they will be offering the iGame Shadow II DDR5 memory kits in low-latency timings with all but one of the kits offered as DDR5-6000 (a DDR5-6400 C28 option is 2x16GB kit is available) with the tightest coming to C26.

COLORFUL’s recent overclocking feats with the iGame Shadow II DDR5 has shown it capable of reaching up to DDR5-9200 meaning there’s certainly some tweaking left in the tank if you want to push the frequencies a bit higher. We’ll see how tight or how far we can take this kit as well and see how it performs in this review of the COLORFUL iGame Shadow II DDR5 RGB memory kit. Read on to find out more!

The Shadow II kit presents clean aesthetics with the iGame branding and ARGB lighting. The heat spreaders are well-built (solid metal construction) and the height is reasonable for most large air-coolers, though, as always with high-profile modules, check clearance (especially in cramped systems).

The original iGame Shadow DDR5 from COLORFUL featured a simpler shui mo hua or ink wash graphic on the heatspreader. This time around it features the character for ying emblazoned on one side of the sticks. For our white sample, it uses black ink strokes while this is reversed in white for the black version.

The symbol is fairly clean and doesn’t really break up the uniform color. From a typical angle of viewing the system, they will most likely be obscured by the rest of the system.

On our sample, the ARGB lighting was uniform and compatible with major motherboard software (ASUS Aura, MSI Mystic, etc.). The diffuser isn’t large and bright, so it’s not an overpowering sight for these sticks. Depending on how you look at RGB lighting, it is a pro or a con.

Conclusion

Colorful Igame Shadow Ii Ddr5 Memory Kit Review

Out of the box, the COLORFUL iGame Shadow II DDR5 RGB memory kit are very good performing kits with highly flexible utility for both Intel and AMD systems. There is always an allure to lower timing kits that a certain group of enthusiast will surely appreciate but for the majority of audience, COLORFUL’s entire iGame Shadow II DDR5 range is sure to hit that spot partcularly for AMD builders.

Colorful Igame Shadow Ii Ddr5 Memory Kit Review

For those adventurous enough though, COLORFUL does give some flexibility for those that know how to tweak their settings. It is hard getting these sticks at C26 or lower and most users won’t spend the time trying to figure out the best timings down to each parameter to see what’s stable especially for those buying these for looks. Still, the flexibility comes in DRAM frequency as the SK Hynix DRAM on the iGame Shadow II DDR5 kits can really stretch.

Our iGame Shadow II DDR5-6000 C28 16GB sticks managed to get a bump to DDR5-7600 using ROG’s built-in Hynix DDR5-7600 timings. I tried to get DDR5-7600 at lower timings from C38 boots at but benchmarking was unstable so I settled on DDR5-7600 C36. COLORFUL’s OC press release showed these sticks doing 9200MT max but had to drop it to 8900MT for more stability and I’ll look more into this in the future.

Colorful Igame Shadow Ii Ddr5 Memory Kit Review

That said, the iGame Shadow II DDR5 memory kit somewhat lives up to its name as it stealthily offers a good performance experience with its low stock timings but with great flexibility for those who want more frequency. All in all, its a great kit and it looks absolutely stunning if you have on 4 slots with space between them to just barely see that ying symbol showing.

Pricing on the COLORFUL iGame Shadow II DDR5 is not out yet. Pricing info will be updated once we receive advise from COLORFUL.

That aside, its nice to see COLORFUL finally grow their memory offering finally having something that can co-exist in their iGame line-up as a side-by-side partner for their successful graphics card offering. While the iGame Shadow II DDR5 memory kit doesn’t have a design partner in the iGame graphics card or motherboard segment, as the Loong edition suggests, this may change in the future.

The COLORFUL iGame Shadow II DDR5 memory kits are great performance options for any system that want a low-timing memory kit but also have the flexibility to explore faster speed when needed. It looks excellent with either black and white options.

Check with your local COLORFUL distributor or favorite dealer for pricing and availability.

COLORFUL backs the iGame Shadow II DDR5 with a limited lifetime warranty. I give it my B2G Recommended Seal!
