At Bilibili World 2025, Colorful showed off a version of their ULTRA series GPU with a slight change: iGame Ultra Duo SSD GPU. This hybrid design feature compact design and mainstream graphics performance but maximizes its functionality with onboard storage expansion—directly on the graphics card itself.
The ULTRA W series are offered in white this generation from shroud to fans, standing in stark contrast to the dark-colored brothers in COLORFUL’s product stack. While Colorful has yet to confirm if this model is based on NVIDIA’s GB206 or GB207 GPU (hinting at either a GeForce RTX 5050 or 5060), the visual identity and functional concept are what truly set it apart.
Built-in Dual SSD Slots
What makes the Ultra Duo truly standout is the inclusion of two M.2 SSD slots mounted on the rear of the PCB. These slots support tool-free installation, eliminating the need for extra cabling and housing the drives directly within the graphics card’s chassis.
Thermal design takes a clever turn: the cooler’s heatsink and fan layout ensure airflow not only over the GPU core but also across the SSDs. Mounting points and spatial arrangement are carefully placed between the storage bays and the rear I/O bracket, helping maintain consistent temps even during heavy read/write workloads.
PCIe Bifurcation Architecture
To support this multi-functionality, the Ultra Duo card utilizes PCIe bifurcation, allocating eight lanes for the GPU and four lanes each for the two SSDs. This configuration ensures that both graphics rendering and NVMe storage operate at full capacity. With PCIe Gen 4 bandwidth readily available on most modern motherboards, an x8 GPU lane poses no performance bottleneck for mid-tier graphics.
Targeting High-Efficiency, High-Capacity Builds
Though official specs and pricing have not yet been disclosed, the iGame Ultra Duo SSD GPU clearly targets a very specific niche focusing on maximizing slot utility i.e. ITX builders that want a maximum utilization, high-efficiency systems—where maximizing airflow and minimizing cable clutter is key. Its minimalist white aesthetic also speaks to themed builds often seen in high-end showcase PCs.
If Colorful brings this GPU-storage hybrid into full retail production, it could set a new precedent for dual-purpose add-in cards in the desktop PC space—particularly in the small-form-factor and creator markets.
