If you’re looking to step up your console gaming with accessories, a fun way to start that one up is with accessorizing your DualShock 4 controller. Apparently, KontrolFreek has something for you. The company’s FPS Freek Galaxy thumbsticks are set to deliver precision controls and classy aesthetics to your controller, giving you the leg up on competitive console games with style to match.
KontrolFreek ships the FPS Freek Galaxy thumbsticks in a simple cardboard packaging with a plastic enclosure with a cutout on top of it to give you a feel of its texture. Pretty basic at the back with an overview of how it improves range of motion and their intended uses.
The Freek Galaxy consists of essentially two thumbsticks with different heights. One is a (6.5mm) mid-rise, concave thumbstick designed for the left stick to bring enhanced control with in-game movement, and the other grip for the right analog stick is 10mm high and is built for accuracy. This basically gives you more control since you’ll have more arc for movement as opposed to stock.
Both thumbsticks are made with, as KontrolFreek puts it, proprietary rubber compound that’s designed to enhance grip and comfort, and reduce slip at the same time. The height difference between the two analog sticks with the thumbsticks feel different at first, but it’s quite easy to adapt and get used to once you play with it. Think of how weird it felt when you’ve gotten so used to the symmetrical design of PlayStation controllers then move to an Xbox controller.
The KontrolFreek FPS Freek Galaxy thumbsticks are available for PS4, PS5, XBOX X|S, XBOX ONE and SWITCH PRO controllers. It’s currently priced at Php895.00, with the Performance Grips at Php789.00. It does seem you can buy a bundle for Php1,319.00, which looks to be a better deal if you’re planning on buying both anyway. That is, if availability isn’t an issue.
