[singlepic id=14864 w=506 h=650 float=center]OC’ing at a glance: MSI is quite an OC-focused brand but noting the designation of the MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING, its not a record breaking machine. Regardless, the board manages to pull-off some great manual overclocking numbers specially for memory. The board didn’t manage to go past 1.67x strap but the board offers option for going upwards. The main take here is that MSI is offering the board to gamers who don’t usually fiddle with their motherboard settings hence the inclusion of the OC Genie feature which allows a quick boost in clock speeds. Using the OC Genie button, we managed to bump our CPU clock to a modest 4Ghz, but MSI might change this in a BIOS revision. The voltage also are too aggressive for my liking junking in 1.18v for a slight 100Mhz increase.
