SSDs are coming down in prices lately and in such a market, the most obvious way to stand out is to provide absolutely impressive performance. With no brand currently holding a definite iron grip in the market, its a hotly contested segment that many would want to stand out. Amongst the contenders in the SSD market is ADATA, a veteran of the storage industry and has been heavily revolutionizing their products in terms of quality and performance. Today we have their top-of-the-line M.2 SSD: the ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro.
XPG is ADATA’s high-performance and gaming sub-brand which is geared towards performance products as well as gaming-centric offerings. Going back to the SX8200 Pro, its an evolution of the previously released SX8200 from ADATA. The SX8200 Pro iteration improves upon some key factors that hopes to entice buyers to upgrade with speed improvements in both read and write performance. There is also an increase in capacity with our model superceding the non-Pro 480GB with the new 512GB Pro option.
Read on to find out more about the ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro in this review.

Closer Look
ADATA packages the SX8200 Pro in their signature XPG box styling: full color black cardboard box with red accents. A shot of the product can be seen on the front with the capacity together with numerous bullet points saying product features, etc.
Moving on to back we have quick run down of how things perform. It doesn’t on how things perform specifically especially with each capacity.
Inside the package we have the SSD and a heatsink.
Here is a shot of other side of the SSD.
And the other side.
Performance Testing and Conclusion
We are redeveloping our storage benchmark methodology and since we’ve not kept up with some of the recent releases, we’ll be rebuild all over again. For now we’ll present data for reference only and are not for direct comparison. As always, we’ll let the numbers do the talking.
ATTO – Potential Performance
ATTO Disk Benchmark benchmarks a drive’s read and write speeds with increasing file sizes and graphs them.
Crystal DiskMark 6
Crystal Disk Mark is storage benchmarking software was developed by “hiyohiyo” of Japan, and is available for free. Crystal Disk Mark measures sequential, and random read/write speeds of storage devices.
AIDA64 Disk Benchmark
AIDA64 contains a disk benchmark module which can measure the performance of the PC’s storage devices, including (S)ATA or SCSI hard disk drives, RAID arrays, optical drives, solid-state drives (SSD), USB drives and memory cards.
HD Tune Random Performance
With all off that said, its clear that the ADATA XPG SX8200 M.2 NVMe SSD is made to compete in the big boy league. But it is on price that makes the deal so much sweeter. At only Php3698, Php6898 and Php12,898 for the 256GB/512GB/1TB respectively, that’s quite a massive price cut for the size/price-per-gigabyte ratio.
Of course, what matters is the performance and there’s two scenarios here that matters: 1) if you just want a fast boot that loads very snappy, and/or 2) you need something readily to smash on when you need storage e.g. film editing, Well, lucky for you, it can do both and at a competitive price point.
If you’re in the market for a high performance SSD that you plan on using both as a drive boot drive or a app drive, you’re in luck as the ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro brings some good performance whether you’re looking for something fast or something large, the XPG SX8200 has something on for you.
The ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro is backed 5-year warranty. We give it our B2G Silver Award!
