Overclocking

With the arrival of PowerTune 2.0 on AMD cards, overclocking has been different on the Catalyst panel. Since dynamic clocks are mostly reliant on temperature levels, the new interface is now presented on a grid. Most 3rd-party overclocking tool though still utilize the more user-friendly sliders and numbers for overclocking. For this we use the ASUS GPU Tweak utility.

Overclocked

Overclocking is fairly straightforward with the Sapphire Radeon R7 250. We set the slider to the maximum clock rate we can get and clock back down until we get stability in Kombustor and Fire Strike Extreme. Results will vary per card and our sample manages to do a small 50Mhz bump over the stock clock along with a 100Mhz bump to the memory clocks. We will be using this OC frequency for our overclocked card testing.
