This girl is the weirdo science division chief, because everyone leading a science division has to be weird, right?
And finally, the ace, Rival.
So why are they important? Because they’re the best of the best when it comes to fighting titans, and it just so happens that on the day they went out to do their scouting tasks, the Colossal Titan came to attack Trost. Coincidence? I think not.
Anyway, soon after hearing word of the fall of Trost, they head back to town. Not until Rival gives a few parting words to a dying subordinate.
Anyway, so what’s up with Eren now? We get a quick flashback of the time Eren got eaten…
Basically, while inside the titan’s tummy, he raged and despaired and raged some more, until he, well, transformed, and burst out from inside the titan. It’s really as simple as that.
So how about now? Eren wakes up with tons of hostile soldiers aiming their weapons at them, and Armin and Mikasa defending him.
The soldiers are all afraid and confused, and have pretty much tagged Eren as an enemy.
There’s pretty much no reasoning with them, much to Armin’s disappointment. Mikasa, though, is just pissed. Well, fine, she’s not, but she’s a girl with a mission of defending Eren, no matter what or who stands in her way.
As for Eren? He just woke up, and has no idea what the hell is happening.
In any case, the crazy captain gives the signal to fire the cannons, and Eren’s past flashbacks before him, especially the scenes that give hints as to what in the world is going on.
Basically, his dad has lots of secrets in his basement, and he kind of wants Eren to go there to learn the truth. To do that, Eren needs power, and so he injected something that would give Eren power, and mess with his memory a bit.
And so yeah, it’s the turn-into-titan power. We get slight answers, but still not enough.
Anyway, Eren remembers things, and quickly bites himself to transform into a titan to save himself, Mikasa and Armin from the cannons.
Yep, the episode is very bitin.
