TEMPERATURE & POWER CONSUMPTION
To measure both power consumption and heat, we stress the video card and record the peak values for heat and wattage. We use default values on the cards and stress test them using a mix of Kombustor Dx11 Burn-In Test with Post-FX.
[singlepic id=14072 w=550 h=600 float=center] [singlepic id=14073 w=550 h=600 float=center]Power consumption is a tad similar to the other model we tested and are within acceptable levels. Checking out temps though, leaving the fan speed at automatic settings our temps were okay during idle but max temps already breached the 80*C meaning GPU Boost 2.0 would sit back and leave the card at its default clocks. Bumping up the fan speed manually, we get some better temps dropping around 2-3*C and with the fans dead-silent even at 100% we feel that the card’s temps can get better with a bit of manual fan speed setting.

will this card suffice for a 3 23″ monitor setup?
You’ll want to turn down graphics settings for that if you want to run off a single card but I highly suggest going for an SLI setup if you want the most out of your mulit-display rig.
