The latest season of Apex Legends, Fortune’s Favor, was launched on May 12, 2020. This is the 5th season that Apex Legends has released, and it brings forth a new Legend, new Season Quests, a Battle Pass, and more! Keep reading this guide to find out everything that Season 5, Fortune’s Favor, brings to the table.
Meet the New Legend – Loba
Loba is a new Legend released with Season 5. When she was a child, Revenant killed her family. As you can imagine, this leads to some interesting in-game interactions between the two Legends. Loba is a thief who uses a teleportation bracelet to access hard-to-reach areas. Her abilities are as follows:
Tactical – Burglar’s Best Friend. Loba can throw her bracelet in the air and teleport to wherever it lands.
Passive – Eye for Quality. Loba can see legendary and epic loot directly through walls, as long as they are within a range of 78 meters.
Ultimate – Black Market Boutique. When playing as Loba, you can place a device that lets you teleport two pieces of nearby loot directly into your inventory.
Season 5 Battle Pass – Cost and Rewards
You can buy the Season 5 Battle Pass in-game for 950 Apex Coins, or you can get the Battle Pass Bundle for 2,800 Apex Coins.
The Season 5 Battle Pass lets you immediately unlock three exclusive Rare Legends skins, in addition to the Legendary Hemlock Retrofitted skin. You’ll also gain 100 new levels to fight through, each of which gives you excellent rewards upon completion – including Legendary items! When the season is over, you’ll be able to keep every item that you earned.
By unlocking the Battle Pass Bundle, you will also unlock Mirage’s Fool’s Gold Skin immediately, plus you’ll be able to skip the first 25 levels of Season 5. This will give you a head start on the exclusive rewards.
It’s much easier to get all of these with boosting. In case you have some difficulties with the game or don’t have enough time to pass levels, you can always get help from Overboost.
Free Items for Season 5 Players
Regardless of whether you purchase the Battle Pass, all Season 5 players will be able to get free rewards. Players will earn Loba’s Huntswoman skin, 5 Apex Packs, and Season 5 Legends Win Trackers.
Season 5’s Quest – Broken Ghost
Season 5 gives players the first-ever Apex Legends quest, “Broken Ghost.” It will last for the entire season, and your mission is to track down nine pieces of an ancient relic. Season 5’s new character, Loba, pushes the drive in this quest, and her thieving and translocating abilities will definitely come in handy.
Players can collect one Treasure Pack each day from Apex Legends competitive matches. These packs will unlock rewards, in addition to new Hunts. When you go on a Hunt and are successful, you get to progress further into the quest’s storyline.
Hunts take place on a weekly basis, and you will search for pieces of the artifact during them. You can brave the dangers of Kings Canyon at night either by yourself or with your squad. If you manage to make it through the Hunt alive, you’ll unlock chapters about “The Broken Ghost.” Only then will you be able to learn what the mysterious artifact is.
Once you have recovered all of the relic’s pieces, you’ll earn exclusive rewards and uncover a mysterious secret!
Changes to the Kings Canyon Map
The Kings Canyon map has changed significantly in Season 5 – mainly due to actions carried out by Loba. You’ll learn more about what she did to alter the landscape in the season’s storyline.
When you play in Kings Canyon, you’ll notice that Skull Town and Thunderdome have sunken down and are now inaccessible. The map’s Broken Coast now reaches all the way from Octane’s Gauntlet to the cliffs outside of Water Treatment.
There is also a new point on the map that’s accessible on the Broken Coast – Salvage. Savage is an industrial zone that hoists up a Leviathan skull. This arena has excellent loot and also features a 2-way zipline balloon. This will let you move from Gauntlet to Salvage (and vice versa) easily.
Looking at the upper east corner of Kings Canyon, you’ll notice that the playable area has been expanded. There is a new zone, The Offshore Rig, which connects to the Swamps, the Capacitor, and the Relay. There’s a hanging platform in the Rig’s north end, which contains high-tier loot!
Capacitor is a tad inland of the Rig, and it sits at a lower elevation, offering paths from the central river to the Rig. It also is surrounded by camps, giving players a chance to restock on supplies before heading into dangerous areas.
Another new addition to the map is the repurposed Charge Towers. You can interact with a tower’s control panel, thus triggering a blast that will restore the Ultimate Power of all Legends on the platform. If you don’t want to wait for your ability to cool down, just look for the glowing yellow towers.
Reconnect Option
Apex Legends is introducing a quality of life update for Season 5 – reconnection. This means that if a player unexpectedly drops from a match, they are able to rejoin it! As long as the match is still ongoing, your squad has survived, and your reconnection time hasn’t expired, you will be able to rejoin. This feature will be added to all competitive modes.
