In this double feature we’ll also take a look at the more affordable offering from Tt eSports in their Ventus line up gaming mice which debuted in Computex earlier this year. The Ventus Z serves as the high-end premium flagship which we have for review also which you can read here and in this review we’ll talk about its little brother, the Ventus R. This gaming mouse serves to fill in the sub-$40 market which makes up the bulk of the mainstream market for gamers particularly those who have yet to step-up to high-end performance gears.
That said, the Ventus R represents a largely competitive segment that is right now the most saturated in the gaming mice market. Tt eSports has a lot to contend with and we’ll take a look at just how their new Ventus R plans to take on this fierce segment.

Closer Look
Tt eSports packaging has standardized to a design that’s certainly easy to spot in shelves: a dark-themed, full-color printed cardboard box with a shot of the product at the front along with its features highlighted in bold icons with the product name printed in bolt at lower part. The Ventus R’s packaging has its RGB color, optical sensor rating and ambidextrous design highlighted in the front. Extra features and other details are noted at the back of the box.
Inside the packaginge we have the mouse, documentations and some Tt eSports dragons stickers.
The Tt eSports Ventus R is relatively small, ambidextrous design mouse. It takes on a more traditional, uniform design than its ergonomic high-end brothers have but this ultimately makes it more accessible for a larger audience due to its applicability for both left- and right-handed users. The top shell of the Ventus R boasts two broad mouse buttons with the palm area boasting the signature vents of the Ventus line. At the bottom we have two large teflon feet for easy gliding over surfaces with the optical sensor in the middle of the belly of the Ventus R.
As an ambidextrous mouse, its curious to see that the Ventus R only has a set of side buttons on one side. Regardless, its an option rather than a feature but still something worth considering for Tt eSports. The sides are lined with textured surfaces to improve grip and the mouse itself has a relatively low profile, with a familiar front-end.
Curiously, Tt eSports uses a more aggressive looking scroll wheel design than the Ventus R and I’m really looking the look of the scroll wheel here.

User Experience & Conclusion
The Tt eSports Ventus R gaming mouse can easily be compared to that of a more compact Rival 100. While that mouse is bigger and is aimed as a cheaper substitute for their professional-grade gaming mice, the Ventus R is tuned for a different audience, one that wants a compact mouse but still retain performance similar to that of a high-end gaming offering. That said, the Ventus R sports decent tracking and response is really great. We do feel it works better on a soft mat than a hard surface but it performs decently whichever you go for. Ergonomics is fine as an ambidextrous mouse but due to its size, people with larger hands will ultimately either claw- or fingertip-grip the Ventus R.
Overall the Ventus R is an easy recommendation if you’re looking for a rather portable mouse for gaming and work. Its ambidextrous design is a nice touch particularly for left-handed gamers who really don’t have much options in terms of what they can get in the high-performance space. Build quality is also great.
If you’re looking for your first gaming mouse but don’t want to break the bank, the Tt eSports Ventus R is a good option especially if you want an ambidextrous and compact design that you can bring anywhere.
Tt eSports backs the Ventus R gaming mouse with a 1-year warranty. We give it out B2G Recommended Award!
