LG 23MP68VQ – Affordable Monitor with AMD FreeSync

The year 2016 seems to be the year for new heights of monitor technology. With that being said, LG seems to have released the successor 23MP series IPS monitor on the market known as the “23MP68VQ”.

What makes this monitor special is that it features the same IPS quality that you can get from the previous MP series of LG monitor but the 2016 version now comes with AMD FreeSync and nut just that, it also comes with LG’s flicker safe technology assuring no flickering or tearing will occur. This is one damn fine monitor on the market right now. If you wonder about the response time, it’s rated 5ms so it might not be a choice for competitive FPS gamers but otherwise, a premium choice for me.

class=”tech_spec_wrap”>This monitor had Super Resolution+ available on the setting menu. What this do is that it adds more pixels and sharpness to the image being displayed. Making the images more crispier and detailed through monitor without any additional workload being thrown on your computer GPU.

A hand in hand technology of LG Flicker Free + AMD FreeSync to provide no flicker and tearing experience. Ideal for gaming indeed.

It has a GAME Mode for picture settings but I am not sure if people will like it as LG seems the have a knack for the odd colors of the display when GAME mode is selected.

Lastly, it has a response time control. Based on my experience of owning LG 23MP monitor series, this increases the response time of the monitor of up to 2 ms but of course, in an exchange of poorer display quality although not noticeable but for those who have sharp eyes might notice it.

And the game-changing factor that makes this monitor a premium is its price. DynaQuestPC is selling this for just PHP7,850 (as of May 20, 2016). That’s cheaper than the previous MP monitor!
