Thousand Pounds Action Company, the fine folks behind the slick Ultra Combo videos and fan film Naruto Shippuuden: Dreamers’ Fight are at it again, but this time, they’ve got some backing. Working in collaboration with Capcom, Thousand Pounds is shooting a commercial to coincide with the release of Street Fighter X Tekken early next year, and this is the announcement of said collaboration.

The demo for Namco Bandai’s idol-raising simulation game THE iDOLM@STER 2 will be out tomorrow for PS3. It will let the player raise a trio of singing idols out of nine from 765PRO, the game’s idol agency. The player will also be allowed to manage six different schedules. After prepping up your idol trio, you can take the stage and have them perform “READY!!”, the opening theme song of the anime of the same name, sans the ‘2’. THE iDOLM@STER 2 will be out 27 October in Japan.

I’m saying this because the first half of this new trailer is a breakdown of SFxT’s core mechanics. From the looks of it, Capcom is doing a fine job of blending the disparate gameplay styles of Street Fighter and Tekken. Here, you have explanations for basic tagging, switch cancels, launchers, basic juggles, and the supposed centerpiece of the game, the Cross Assault. Capcom just hoisted two new Street Fighter X Tekken trailers for this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Of course, the new trailers include the latest spate of character reveals. In this batch, we have Dhalsim and the ever gender-bending Poison for the Street Fighter side. Poison is a particularly special case, as this marks her second appearance as a playable character in a fighting game since Final Fight Revenge in 1999.
