If there’s ever one thing that’s been tempting me to sign up for a Japanese PSN account, it’s the veritable treasure trove of PS1 games they have up for download. Heck, sometimes even Europe gets better deals. Although the US Playstation Store has the PS1-generation Final Fantasy games, they’re still missing out on a whole bunch of classics from Square Enix’s (formerly Squaresoft)library from two generations ago.

As posted on Siliconera, Rurouni Kenshin (better known as Samurai X to a lot of us here) is making its way to the Playstation Portable as part of its 15th anniversary celebration. Entitled Rurouni Kenshin: Saisen, the game is a 2D fighter using cel-shaded 3D models and an artsy brush effect for attacks not unlike those found in Street Fighter IV. Square Enix, by way of the good folks over at Siliconera, has released two new videos for their upcoming sequel-but-sort-of-a-prequel Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy. Nope, this batch isn’t a new character reveal or flashy new trailer. These two are fights featuring some of the new additions to Duodecim’s roster.
Laguna Loire will be present in the Cosmos line-up in Square Enix’s PSP fighter Final Fantasy Dissidia: Duodecim. The FFVIII character who’s the heavily implied father of Squall and the appointed leader of Esthar will be back in action with his trusty machine gun. This announcement comes from Weekly Shonen Jump and the scan (below) shows the attacks he will be having.
With Capcom’s premiere monster hunting game’s date of release is jut a few weeks away, it seems they’re bringing out the big guns for the latest, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. Stemming off from the successful Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker tie-ups the game has recently announced that two familiar titles will also seeing themselves a MH appearance.
