Sekiro: No Defeat, the hand-drawn anime adaptation of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, will stream weekly as an eight-episode series beginning January 2027. Crunchyroll says the series will add content beyond the theatrical version currently screening in Japan.

The anime revisits Wolf and Kuro’s journey in a fantasy reimagining of Sengoku-era Japan. Daisuke Namikawa voices Wolf, Miyuki Satou voices Kuro, and Kenjiro Tsuda voices Genichiro Ashina in the Japanese cast.
Kenichi Kutsuna directs, Takuya Satou writes the screenplay, Takahiro Kishida handles character designs and Shuta Hasunuma composes the music. The adaptation is produced by KADOKAWA, Qzil.la and ARCH.
The announcement follows an extension of the Japanese theatrical run beyond its planned three weeks. The production also screened in Annecy’s Feature Films: Midnight Specials program and had its North American premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival.
The source game has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide, according to the release.
