Hardware Busters has taken its GPU Test Suite public, putting the full project on GitHub for anyone to inspect and download. Version 0.1.1 ships as a Windows installer under the open-source Apache-2.0 license, and no account is required to browse the repository or grab the build. This is a distinct step beyond the project’s July 11 introduction: the tool is built for repeatable GPU work rather than one-off score chasing, folding game automation, measurement provenance, reporting, and profile authoring into a single Windows-focused workflow. We were in discussion with Hardware Busters’ Aris Mpitziopoulos during the build, and the public release follows weeks of work on a CPU test suite that remains unreleased, before Aris pivoted the effort toward GPU testing, which we both pursued even years ago already.
According to Aris, one of the main reasons for going public now is to bring more people in: to get contributors submitting workflows and ideas, spread the word, and ultimately improve the suite. It is worth setting expectations clearly, though. This is an advanced toolchain, not a turn-key benchmark launcher, and it is not recommended for those used to one-click solutions. Some patience is needed to streamline the operation.

What the suite includes
The release centers on two evaluation modes, each built around a controlled, traceable process rather than a single import-and-run button:
- Automated game testing: The foundation of the suite drives profile-defined game launches, navigation, capture, repeat handling, validation, and result-oriented workflows. The first public pack includes 12 Hardware Busters Verified game profiles and 16 bot scripts, positioned as practical starting points for controlled testing rather than a guarantee that every local game build, account state, driver, language, or hardware setup behaves identically.
- GPU Cooling Tester Evaluation: Controlled cooler workflows and reports designed around noise- and power-normalized testing, intended to separate a cooler’s real thermal behavior from the easy but misleading trick of simply allowing more noise or more power.
- Visual pack-and-bot authoring editor: Rather than treating profiles as opaque files, contributors can build and review game definitions, settings, scenes, navigation bots, routes, and related pack content through a purpose-built Author Studio that starts each benchmark pack as an editable draft.
Importantly, the suite and its profile packs do not include or redistribute commercial games, benchmark applications, downloadable content, accounts, or license keys. Users must install each target themselves and hold a valid license or other legitimate access, and profiles do not bypass publisher licenses, account rules, anti-cheat systems, or terms of service.

What the reports look like
The suite generates self-contained HTML reports with run summaries, measurement provenance, validation status, per-scene metrics, and methodology notes. To keep the format inspectable without passing synthetic numbers off as hardware results, the public repository includes a measurement-free report template with every result field left blank and a visible banner stating that the file is a template rather than a benchmark claim. Developers can also inspect the benchmark and cooler report generators directly in the source tree.

Open source and a verified release
The public source is a .NET project written almost entirely in C#, and it is released under Apache-2.0. The project runs Windows CI and CodeQL checks, with 88 of 88 tests passing for the validated release. The installer is not treated as an afterthought either: release validation includes a silent installation, an application-launch smoke test, and the SHA-256 hash of the published setup file. Developers can read the contribution guide, report problems through Issues, or exchange ideas in Discussions.
<tr”>DetailSpecification
| Version | 0.1.1 (Windows installer) |
| License | Apache-2.0, open source |
| Platform / Runtime | Windows, .NET (C#), builds with the .NET 9 SDK |
| Quality checks | Windows CI and CodeQL, 88/88 tests passing |
| First profile pack | 12 Hardware Busters Verified game profiles, 16 bot scripts |
| Measurement path | Powenetics V2 for board-power and power-efficiency metrics |
Community profiles are welcome, but they are not automatically Hardware Busters Verified. Verification remains a separate review and qualification status, so an uploaded profile should be treated as community content unless it is explicitly marked otherwise.
Power Analysis via Powenetics v2 by Cybenetics
For direct, high-rate external board-power readings, and for the suite’s Hardware Busters power-efficiency metrics, Powenetics V2 is the supported measurement path. That measurement hardware is supplied and sold by Cybenetics LTD; Hardware Busters and Cybenetics cooperate on the suite but remain separate entities. Ordering details are on the official Powenetics page.
The public launch is an open invitation to test GPUs, inspect the tools, improve profiles, and help make repeatable GPU evaluation more accessible. Readers who want to support the work can do so through the Hardware Busters Patreon.
