Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger recently sat down with CRN for an interview where they discussed topics including Intel’s channel and partner ecosystem growth but Gelsinger was also asked to respond to questions like Apple’s decision to move away from Intel CPUs and ultimately make their own. Its a good read and is one of the first that Pat Gelsinger has done that he’s a bit more open in discussing other parties.
The main take here is that Pat Gelsinger is quite confident Intel will not be making any further dips and while Alder Lake has yet to be released, the CEO believes that Intel’s market leadership will soon be at hand.
Now this news has been out for a day or two and many media has titled it as the Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger taking shots at AMD and out of context that may be true but you are the CEO of a multi-billion dollar company and admitting you’re clawing back doesn’t really inspire confidence so it does make sense that Gelsinger sometimes makes these bold statements.
In the interview as well, he did praise AMD and states that they have done a good job.
“AMD has done a solid job over the last couple of years. We won’t dismiss them of the good work that they’ve done”.
