Don’t count the Philippine Team out just yet.
The PH representatives for the Dota 2 competition being held at Cologne Germany during this year’s Gamescom is still alive and kicking. Team Mineski.Infinity, was able to stave off elimination against team Ok.Nirvana.cn of China. It would seem that Miniski.Infinity was already in a disadvantage but was able to save itself from elimination in what the Dota 2 Blog could only call as a “stunning upset”.
The Mineski.Infinity line up was composed of the following heroes:

while the Ok.Nirvana.cn had:
Mineski’s win against Ok.Nirvana.cn was part of the first set of eliminations for the loser’s bracket. Mineski.Infinity’s win ended the china team of Ok.Nirvana’s bid to be the first ever Dota 2 world champion and earning the 1 million dollar cash prize.
However it wasn’t all smooth sailing for our representatives, the team had a dismal group stage performance with Mineski.Infinity not winning a single match putting them in the loser’s bracket. Those who lose in this bracket would have to pack their bags and return home. That is why Mineski.Infinity needs to win all their matches from this point forward and the competition would be fiercer for the Dota 2 championship.
For their upcoming match, Team Mineski.Infinity is up against team m5 which is scheduled at around 6 pm our time. You can view the live matches here.
The loser’s bracket started last August 18 and would last till the 20th. The eight teams who finished third and fourth from the group stage. The winner in the loser’s bracket would then advance to the championship finals.
