There are various upcoming game releases from major studios to be excited about in the near future. These include new games, returning classics, and long-running franchises.
For many gaming fans, to create website is one of the best ways to circulate gaming information and reach out to others.
Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt Red is better known for the Witcher trilogy games, but Cyberpunk 2077 has been anticipated since a teaser trailer was released in 2013. Based on the Cyberpunk tabletop role-playing game, this is a first-person game set in a futuristic megacity of corruption and greed. At the center is a customizable mercenary at odds with corporate militias and mafia gangs. This will be released on 16th April For Playstation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, and Google Stadia.
Ghost of Tsushima
From Sucker Punch Productions, Ghost of Tsushima is a third-person stealth/combat game set in the mysterious past era of feudal Japan. Inspired by the aesthetic of legendary Japanese director, Akira Kurosawa, this game shows incredible medieval scenes as a backdrop to rapid samurai sword strikes, along with fancy tricks like flaming projectiles and smoke bombs. Ghost of Tsushima will be available on PS4 from 26th June.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
A hugely popular Nintendo franchise, New Horizons is the first game of the series to be available on Switch. The game starts out with a familiar character, Tom Nook, giving the player-created character a ticket to a desert island. From here, the player begins the challenge of starting a settlement by finding resources, organizing tasks, finding friends, and other such chores. Characters are completely customizable, and up to eight friends can play together online. Animal Crossing: New Horizon is available on Nintendo Switch from 20th March.
The Last of Us Part II
It has been seven years since the original, and more than three years since the unveiling of the sequel, but Naughty Dog is finally bringing us The Last of Us Part II. We are now set five years after the original, with central character Ellie to reunite with caretaker Joel in a dystopian future world. This is a story of love and vengeance in a world on the verge of collapse. From 29th May, The Last of Us Part II will be available on Playstation 4.
Doom Eternal
The Doom series from Id Software was first brought to us in 1993 and still retains relevance, following an excellent 2016 reboot. This story is about the Doom Slayer’s returning mission to the planet Earth to save humanity from demonic monsters. The slayer now has blades in his suit, a special cannon, and a grappling hook for quick maneuvers. In invasion mode, players can be the demons in someone else’s game. Doom Eternal is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC from 20th March.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
The follow up to Ori and the Blind Forest of 2015, Moon Studios has taken its time over this sequel, but the extra wait has certainly paid off. Similar to the original, this is a side-scrolling platform game that features a spirit creature that can gain extra movement abilities while navigating the Metroidvania environment. Now the game is looking better and more detailed and with a great new score. Will of the Wisps is available on Xbox One and PC from 11th March.
Halo Infinite
Given that Halo 5: Guardians was not the most popular, and The Master Chief Collection ran into technical difficulties for months, 343 Industries have been looking to breathe life back into the Halo franchise. They may have achieved just that with Halo Infinite, a sci-fi shooter adventure that brings back Master Chief as the lead, as well as an excellent new game engine. This is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC at an unspecified date.
These are just a selection of the fantastic games to look out for in the upcoming months, in a year that will promise much more.
