Kwalee and Australian solo developer Bun Muen have released Shift at Midnight, an online co-op detective horror game for up to three players. The game is out now on PC and Xbox Series X|S, and is also available via Game Pass across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Lowest Price

Launch Price: Shift at Midnight is priced at $9.99 / £9.99 / €9.99, and is included with Xbox Game Pass on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

What Is Shift at Midnight?

Players manage a gas station overnight, stocking shelves, taking deliveries, and keeping the store running to meet each night’s quota. Every customer needs interrogating, since some are doppelgangers pretending to be human. Players can ask each customer five questions, examine their ID, and cross-check their details before letting them go; miss one and it returns later that shift to attack. Making a mistake means barricading doors, laying traps, and hiding as the doppelgangers turn into monsters. Each shift is randomly generated, so no two are alike, and proximity chat runs through every session.

Features

  • Multiplayer for up to three players
  • Proximity chat
  • Interrogate customers using ID checks and computer records
  • Randomly generated shifts
  • Gas station management: stocking, deliveries, and cleaning
  • Character customization

Steam Bundles

Shift at Midnight has partnered with Escape the Backrooms, Phasmophobia, and YAPYAP for a series of Steam bundles, offering discounts across the co-op horror titles.

Shift at Midnight is available now on Steam and Xbox Series X|S.
