It’s time to prepare for the reconquest of Trost!
First up, a history / urban legend lesson from Pixis. Someone once said that humanity tends to fight amongst themselves when there is no external threat, and this requires one in order to fully unite. But, well, titans, and they’re still far from united. Go figure. Humanity has a way of screwing itself over even in front of impending doom.
Second, making the plan. While the basic premise is to have Eren carry the boulder, they still have the problem of lots of titans roaming around. So what they plan is to send decoys and draw the titans towards the opposite corner of Trost. Note that the soldiers still have access to the top of the walls.
Third, rallying the troops. Well, it’s panic in the disco garrison, and lots of people want to desert now. Pixis gives his speech, from atop the wall, allowing them to desert, but reminding them that by doing so they are allowing the dread of titans to even reach their loved ones. And yes, it’s better to die out there fighting titans that to die inside fighting other humans when everything goes to hell due to overpopulating the innermost wall.
So the plan is set. Most of the soldiers will be part of the decoy group, while these three were selected by Pixis to be Eren’s escort, because you know, Murphy’s Law. Anyway, it’s likely new titans will show up near the hole anyway…
But, well, Mikasa wants in, but Eren says no.
But the escort group orders Mikasa to be part of the escort… So happy Mikasa is happy.
And thus begins the longest conversation while running without getting short on breath…
Anyway, they reach the boulder, and Eren goes titan mode…
and promptly attacks Mikasa… wut…
Oh man, they added so many anime original dialogue, which weren’t bad mind you, just to prolong are agony over seeing how things turn out. This is some kind of S&M play, or something.
