What Esports Tournaments Will Be There in 2024?
2024 will be a busy year in the esports calendar. Organizers have ensured you enjoy breathtaking scenes in various disciplines throughout the year. Here is what to expect from January to December.
January Esports Tournaments
Look out for the following competitive actions in January:
- The League of Legends Regional Series
This will happen globally from mid-January, with LEC Winter and LCK Spring competitions kicking off of January, respectively.
- The ALGS Split 1 Pro League
The series will feature group stages starting on the 21st of January. This tournament will feature EMEA, APAC South and North, and North American teams. The top two teams in each group will proceed to the quarters and the best four to the semis. In addition, the winners will battle out for the prestigious award and a $1,000 cash prize.
- IEM Katowice 2024
This will be the first CS: GO premier tournament from late January to the 11th of February. Expect to see top teams like Navi, FaZe Clan, and Team Vitality battle for a $1,000,000 pool prize. The IEM Katowice is an elite and prestigious tournament with multiple betting possibilities on the ggbet app.
Other tournaments to watch out for in January include the Call of Duty Major 1 and the Rocket League Championship Series.
February Esports Tournaments
This month will see the following events played:
- Dota’s Dream League Season Invitational runs from the 25th of February to the 10th of March. The prize pool is set at $1,000,000.
- Brazil will host the elite Rainbow Six Siege tournament, Six Invitational, on the 13th of February. A prize pool of $3,000,000 is up for grabs, with 20 international teams expected to compete.
Esport Events to be Played in March
- PGL Copenhagen 2024 Major
If you are a fan of Counter-Strike Global Offensive, you must be aware that the title has now been modified to CS2. Valve Cooperation has organized a major international event in Copenhagen to boost its popularity.
Top teams worldwide will be battling for a share of the $1.25m tournament. There will be regional qualifiers selected from the Regional Major series.
- The Valorant Champions Tour, VCT 2024 Masters
It is the first of Valorant’s events scheduled for 8th-24th March to be played in Madrid. China will host several playoffs.
- PUBG Mobile Global 2024
This will be the first LAN global event sponsored by PUBG. It comes with $500,000 to be grabbed that will be played from late March into May.
Other competitive scenes to be hosted in March are the CDL Major II, sponsored by Mirema Heretics, and the FFWS Sea Spring, organized by Garena.
What Esports Are Scheduled in April?
You will witness three major events in April:
- The ESL One Birmingham, a Dota 2 tournament, will run from the 22nd of April, competing for a share of the $1m prize. There will be an ESL pro tour with regional qualifiers to get to the final event.
- Valve plans to bring back the elite Counter-Strike contest in China dubbed the IEM China 2024, which will be played from 8th-14th April.
- Watch out for the ESL Pro League Season 19, a prestigious Counter-Strike series from the 23rd of April.
Second Quarter of 2024
Now that we are done with the first quarter, let’s look at esports competitions from May to August.
Esports Tournaments in May
- Mid-Season Invitational 2024
League of Legends has organized an MSI tour featuring a new ranking. Winners will qualify for the World Championship and the regionals. The MSI will be played in Chengdu, China, starting 1st-19th May.
- VCT Shanghai Masters
Valorant will have another exciting international tournament, VCT. This will be the first regional league competition in China.
Look out for the DreamLeague Season 23 (ESL’s Pro Tour by Dota 2), which will be played online, and the CDL Major III.
Esports Slated for June
- ESL has organized the Snapdragon PRO Series as a roadmap for the ML: BB, with the first match happening in early summer.
- The CDL Major IV will be the final CDL tournament, followed by the CDL 2024 Championship. Details about the venue are yet to be revealed by the organizers, but Texas might be the speculated host.
Any Esports Tournaments in July?
So far, no esports event is scheduled in July, but you can look out for the Mid-Season Tournament. The series is a continuation of the PUBG Mobile World Invitational to be played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Unlike previous competitions, this event has a higher prize pool, approximately $3m.
August Esports Events Calendar
One of the most prestigious Valorant events in August is the VCT 2024 Champions. It will be an elite title where participants hope to be crowned the world champions.
Another notable tournament in August is the IEM Cologne 2024, a prestigious CS2 event that will be played at the LANXESS arena.
Esports Scheduled for the Final Quarter
- Watch out for the World of Tanks championship hosted in London from the 25th of September to the 2nd of November. The play-ins will be in Berlin, and playoffs in Paris.
- Counter-Strike has another exciting event in September, the ESL Pro League Season 20, with the finalist qualifying for the IEM Katowice challenge.
October Esports Competitions
There will be two main events confirmed:
- The SnapDragon Pro Series is a regional league culminating in the M6 World Championship.
- The Dream League Season 24 will be witnessed in the Dota 2 scene. It will be the penultimate event of the EPT season three that will pave the way for ESL One Asia at the end of 2024.
Esports that Will be Played in November
- The FFWS Global Finals is the ultimate contest in the Free Fire genre, featuring the best teams globally that will be played in India.
- The PUBG Mobile Championship has a $3M prize pool and will be played in the UK.
- The BLAST premier World Final is an event inspired by the Counter-Strike esports community scheduled in Abu Dhabi.
As the year ends, there will be multiple esports disciplines to be played in December, including:
- The M6 World Championship
- The Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 is a Counter-Strike China-based title.
- The ESL One Asia will be Dota 2’s global LAN event of the EPT Season 3.
Besides these events, there are more prestigious tournaments to watch out for in the esports community. Such include the International 13, the Riyadh Masters, Overwatch esports (somewhat), and the Esports World Cup 2024.
