PERFORMANCE
As is the norm in our tests, we will be playing actual levels to simulate actual gaming scenarios that our test system will encounter in real-world scenarios. First game up is Battlefield 3.
Battlefield 3
Right off the bat we can see there’s a massive power gap in the 2 cards but the most obvious and important factor here is that our system upon equipping the NVIDIA GTX 660 Ti managed to average 61 frames per second which is what we want to see. The 9600 GT, a very capable card of its days has certainly shown its age in this test barely capable of 20FPS.
Borderlands 2
Moving on to Borderlands 2, the horror continues as we see sub-20FPS numbers from the 9600GT. On the bright side though we have excellent numbers from the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti, putting up incredible numbers considering the age of our board and processors. Averaging at 76FPS, Borderlands 2 is buttery smooth.
 Civilization V
Last we have Civilization 5; we used the built-in Late Game View benchmark to really push what the systems can handle on such a grand scale when the game is already serving up so much units. The GeForce 9600GT proves unplayable with below 10FPS average, this will make any person scream in agony as he watches a slideshow of a game. The GTX 660 Ti also feels the pain, ballin’ at an average of 39FPS but still manages to provide a much smoother experience than our older system.

This is great.. specially for those who have limited budgets, no need to buy a new system unit. Thanks for this!
This is so true. I was once in the same situation. First I have a crappy system and a crappy gfx card. At that time, my gaming experience suck. I can’t play the latest games and all of the games I have I played it on low settings to achieve tolerable frame rates. Then after upgrading just my old gfx card to a higher, more latest, mid end gaming gfx card, it gave me a hunch of what “the way its meant to played” experience is. Thanks graphics card. giyomi giyomi :3
