So we now have the Medic achievement guide up! If you plan on getting all the items and bonuses for the Medic class in Team Fortress 2 here’s the low down on what you need to do! Thanks to Big Downloads for the guide!
Autoclave
Assist in burning five enemies with a single übercharge on a Pyro
Doing this normally is fairly easy. Just attach yourself to a pyro and build your übercharge. If you get it your über, it’s a good idea to tell your attached pyro that you have it, so you can work towards getting the achievement. Remember, you have to burn 5 people all in a single über, so running at a group of enemies is the way to go. Try to avoid defensive emplacements as well, as they can cause too much knockback for you.
Farming it works the same way. Get 5 people willing to be burned, über a pyro, and get to it. Great achievement to work with if the enemy is working on the Infernal Medicine achievement.
Tip: You can burn the same people 5 times. It still counts as burning 5 enemies. You just have to wait until the flames go out the first time. Also, it’s useful to build über on another player, such as a heavy or soldier, and switch to the pyro when need be.
Infernal Medicine
Extinguish one hundred burning teammates
This one is all about the grind. To do this in normal play, just keep an eye out for a pyro setting people on fire. Remember that if you use your medigun on somebody on fire, it extinguishes it. So if he sets a whole bunch of people on fire, just rapidly switch between them to work on the achievement. You’ll get it eventually.
To farm this achievement, get a whole bunch of players from your team, an enemy pyro, and have him set them on fire. Just have yourself put out the fires, and you’ll get it fairly quickly. This is a good one to work with Autoclave, as chances are an enemy medic healing the pyro wants the Autoclave achievement, and the achievement only requires burning, not death.
Tip: You need only briefly tag a burning player with your medigun to extinguish them. If you do brief tags, you’ll earn it faster when farming, and let yourself get back to normal healing in regular play.
Hypocritical Oath
Kill an enemy spy that you have been healing.
This is a middling achievement to get in normal play. It’s not common, to get it, but not hard. Here’s two ways to do it in normal play. First off, if you see a spy sapping some sentries, heal him quickly, then run up and bonesaw him. You’ll get the achievement extremely easily. Second, if the guy you are healing suddenly gets the “Master of Disguise” achievement because you healed him, he’s a spy. Kill him, and you’ll get the Hypocritical Oath.
As for farming it, well, it’s really easy. Cooperate with an enemy spy. Have him disguise and call for medic. heal him, and bonesaw him back to the stone age. You’ll get both Hypocritical Oath and one more step towards FYI I’m A Medic.
Tip: You don’t have to use the bonesaw, but it deals the most damage in your arsenal, and is humiliating to boot.
FYI I am a Medic
Use a bonesaw to kill five enemy spies who have been calling for Medic.
This one is entertaining, and was inspired by this video of a hilarious spy kill. As for obtaining it in normal play, look for players acting suspiciously and asking for heals. If you manage to catch one, bonesaw him. On a normal server, it’s both a good spy check and a way to progress towards FYI I’m A Medic.
If you are farming, well, get several spies to disguise as a friendly player in front of you, and have them yell medic. Kill them, and away you go. You only need 5 kills, making this achievement absurdly easy to farm.
Big Pharma
Assist a heavy in killing twenty enemies where neither of you die
This is the one that requires the most farming, as doing this in normal gameplay is next to impossible. However, if you want to do this in normal gameplay, my suggestion is to get at least 2 medics on a single heavy and have him start killing guys like crazy. This is a perfect achievement for defensive teams, as you can just retreat if either of you start to hurt.
Farming this makes the achievement far easier. Get on a CTF map with 30 minutes. Get a bunch of guys on BLU, and the heavy and a medic on RED. Bring the heavy to the spawn entrance, and just have him let lose. Works best if the majority of BLU players are scouts. Make sure to watch your ammo reserves, and pick up weapons from fallen scouts. Done right, you can get a Big Pharma achievement for the healing medic once every minute.
Tip: Only the person getting the assist point gets this achievement. So make sure not to keep the other players from it by continuing to heal the heavy after you have it.
Blunt Trauma
Assist in punching two enemies with a single übercharge on a Heavy
This one can be hard or easy, depending on the heavy you are attached to. Either way, you have to let him know that you are going for this achievement, because it’s not an achievement you are likely to run across in normal play. If your heavy tends to get right up against the enemy (some do), then ask him to switch to fists. Once he does, über him, and you’ll be great. If he’s the kind of heavy that keeps far away, you’ll have to convince him to be a close heavy for a few minutes while you punch people.
This one is really easy to farm. Charge an über, get two enemies to stand next to each other, uber the heavy and have him punch them both. Takes almost no time whatsoever, and minimal effort.
Tip: You only need to punch them, not kill them.
Ubi Concordia, Ibi Victoria
Assist in killing five enemies on an enemy control point in a single life
This can be easy or hard, depending on the team you are playing on, the map you are playing on, and the current team’s strategy. This is extremely easy to do if you are playing on the defensive team on certain maps, or if your team is currently on the defensive. Attach to a heavy, soldier, pyro, or demoman, and assist them in killing enemies trying to take the point. All you have to do is stay alive until 5 are killed, and you will have the achievement. If you are attacking, this is a little more difficult, but still possible. Attach to one of the aforementioned offensive classes, and start capturing. Let an enemy player get on the point to block the capture, and kill them. Do this 5 times (either on the same point or multiple points), and you’ll be set.
For farming this, hop into a control point map with at least 4-5 players on the enemy team, and one demoman on your team. Capture a point, and have the demoman plant stickies on it. Get the enemies to run on the point, heal the demoman, and have him detonate. Instant achievement.
Tip: Only you have to survive. If your benefactor dies, don’t worry. just find another. And beat yourself up for letting a comrade die. You’re a doctor!
Medical Breakthrough
Assist in destroying five enemy Engineer buildings with a single Übercharge on a Demoman
This one is of middling difficulty, no matter whether you are attacking or defending. Make sure to charge your über before putting yourself in danger. Then attach to a demoman, and run at an entrenched enemy position. For a defending team, this will usually be a fair bit away from the front line, but close enough to cut down on travel time. For the attacking team, it should be near whatever objective you must capture. Sticky the area and detonate. You may have to hit multiple sentries/dispensers/teleporters with the same über, so move quickly.
To farm this achievement, get two engineers on the opposite team, and a demoman on your team. Have the two engineers build all of their deployables except for their sentries. Make sure you have your über charged, have the demoman plant the stickies, trigger the über, and detonate. Instant achievement.
Tip: You must be the one who gets the assist points. If someone else is getting them, you won’t get the achievement. Also, this is easiest to do on deployables which aren’t sentries.
Consultation
Assist a fellow Medic in killing five enemies in a single life
This one can be hard if your buddy isn’t good at playing the combat medic, which is fairly common. Here’s the easiest way to do it, though. Attach yourself to a medic, and have both of you charge your übers. Once you have your über, have your attached medic pull out a bonesaw or syringe gun and go after some enemies. If you run across a particularly bad enemy (heavy, soldier) then use the über. You’ll still get credit for the kills, even while in über. Just remember that you don’t have to über to get the achievement.
To farm, attach to a medic, and have the opposing team choose five scouts. Have your attached medic bonesaw them to kingdom come. Simple and effective.
Tip: Once again, only the person getting assist points gets credit for this achievement, so it might be wise to only have one medic per attacker.
Surgical Prep
Have an Ubercharge ready before the set up phase ends
This one is easy or hard, depending on the map. With the new update that increases the amount of über gained while charging it during set-up, it’s a fairly easy achievement to get on most default servers. Just attach yourself to a teammate and continue to heal him. Make sure nobody else is healing your target, though, because it will slow down your charge and can prevent you from getting the achievement Easiest in conjunction with House Call.
You can’t farm this, as it takes place before the match starts. Just go for it normally.
Tip: You can charge faster by having your target hurt himself. This is only a marginal increase in charging, but any increase is better than none.
House Call
Join a game that one of your friends is in and then deploy an ÜberCharge on him
This one doesn’t even require farming. It’s best to do normally. Join a friend’s game through the friends tab on the Steam community bar. Once you are in-game, make sure to join your friend’s team. Be sure that you can get über before the round ends, other you’ll have to reconnect through the friends tab. After you get your charge, run to your friend, heal, and über. The achievement should pop up right away. No need to farm this achievement.
Tip: This achievement is best gotten while trying to get the Family Practice achievement, as this über also counts towards family practice.
Family Practice
Übercharge ten of your steam community friends
Hopefully you are lucky enough to have ten real-life friends who play TF2! If you aren’t this lucky, though, just add cool people on your favorite server to your friends list. Continue to play, and über them when you get the chance. You will eventually get this achievement, although maybe not immediately.
To farm this, just add everybody in the server you are in to your friends list. Ask them to accept, and then über them each in turn. You’ll get it lickity split. Don’t try outside of farming servers, though, as you’ll probably piss people off with your friending spam.
Tip: They have to be 10 different friends. You can’t über the same friend 10 times.
You’ll Feel a Little Prick
Assist in killing three enemies with a single Übercharge on a Scout
This one can be easy or hard, depending on the size of the map. If it’s a close quarters map, it should be fairly easy to accomplish. Build up your übercharge on a soldier, heavy, or other class before finding a scout to attach to. After you have your über, proceed to latch onto said scout and rush the enemy. Get as close to an enemy group before übering, and make sure that you keep the scout übered during his rampage. If the scout gets 3 kills, you’ve got it! If he doesn’t, well, try again.
To farm this, get the enemy team to choose three scouts, and attach yourself to another scout. As soon as you have über, über him and get the kills. Achievement unlocked!
Tip: Like all the assist achievements, you have to be to one to get the points or it doesn’t count
Blast Assist
Assist in exploding five enemies with a single Übercharge on a Soldier
This one is fairly easy, as long as you are on the offensive. As always, charge your über, although you can potentially do it on the soldier you will be working with. Once you have the über, get as close as possible to a group of enemies and let loose the mayhem. After the dust clears, you should hopefully have the achievement. If not, try again.
To farm this one, just charge an über, get 5 scouts from the enemy, and have the soldier unload his rockets at them. Easy as cake, and probably one of the easiest achievements to farm.
Tip: Two things to keep in mind. First of all, it has to be a gib kill from the rocket launcher. Second, you can’t use the Kritzkrieg, as its über’s don’t count. It sucks, but that’s the way it works.
Doctor Assisted Homicide
Assist in killing twenty nemeses
This one is incredibly hard to get, and will probably take the most time out of any achievements here. Basically, hope you get lucky in normal play with your healing, as there’s no real way to tell who has what nemesis. Having your teammates call out when they have a nemesis might help it along faster.
For farming, get you and a ton of players on one team, and a heavy on the opposite team. Have the heavy slaughter each player until they have nemesis against him, and then heal each one in turn as they kill the heavy. You’ll get it a lot faster (although still slowly compared to the other achievements on this list).
Tip: They must be the nemesis of the person you are healing not your nemesis. You don’t have to share a nemesis either.
Peer Review
Kill fifty Medics with your bone saw
Middling difficulty to get. At the moment, as most players are medics, you can just grind it by playing the game like a deathmatch and bonesawing everyone in sight. However, when things begin to return to normal, it’ll be difficult. The best way to work on this is to have another medic heal you while you go on your killing rampage, especially since he’ll get further towards the Consultation achievement.
Farming this involves getting a whole ton of medics in a group and killing them all over and over again. It’s a great way to get the Sawbones achievement as well, as chances are you’ll land 5 hits without missing with no problem. Just grind at it until you get it.
Tip: Friendly kills count! So if the server you are on doesn’t care too much, have a friendly killfest to grind for the achievement.
Sawbones
Hit enemies with your bone saw five times in a row without dying or missing
This one is fairly easy to get. The easiest way to get it in normal play is to suicide rush a group of enemies by surprise. Chances are, you’ll get the necessary hits in for the achievement before they kill you. You can also do careful hit-and-run tactics, smacking an enemy with a bonesaw and then doing it to another person later. As long as you don’t miss or die, it counts.
To farm this achievement, get either a heavy with an attached medic or a bunch of enemies to oppose you. Hit them with the bonesaw until you get the achievement. It’s extremely easy to get in farming if you pay attention to what you are doing.
Tip: As the description said, it has to be an enemy. Friendlies, even with friendly fire on, count as a miss.
First Do No Harm
Play a full round without killing any enemies and score the highest on a team of six or more players
This one is fairly easy to do if you happen to be a good medic. Attach yourself to good players who stay alive and kill lots of people. As long as you are getting the assist points, you should get the achievement if you happen to get more assist than somebody else gets points. Overall, easy to do for an accomplished medic, especially one that can switch easily between their heal targets. Also, keep in mind it has to be on a team of 6+, including yourself (so you and 5 others).
This one is also pretty easy to farm. Attach to a heavy and get the assists for his slaughter of the willing enemy team. Then have him stop, and have yourself attach to another player to get more assist points outside of the heavy (otherwise you’ll be even and you won’t get it). Make sure you are on top, and you’ll get it as long as you don’t kill anyone.
Tip: Friendly fire doesn’t count as a kill, and at the moment, gives you points. You can slaughter teammates and get the achievement.
Trauma Queen
Deploy three Übercharges in less than five minutes and assist in five kills during that time
This achievement is a lot easier than it looks. First of all, in normal combat, if you refrain from dying, you can build an übercharge to 100% in 30-45 seconds. Second, you only have to assist. The assists do not have to be while the recipient of your healing is übered. Keeping these two things in mind, it’s very easy to do this achievement in normal play.
To farm this achievement, immediately get 5 kill assists. Then go and work to build your übercharge and deploy it three times in turn. You’ll get it pretty fast, especially if you know how to build über at a fast rate.
Tip: You can die while doing this achievement! So don’t be afraid to get down and dirty.
Medical Intervention
Save a falling teammate from dying on impact
This one can be pretty hard to do normally. Your best bet is to overheal a soldier and stay on him. As soldiers tend to get flung around a lot, you’ll eventually get the achievement for saving him from falling damage. The same goes for attaching to a demoman. Just keep in mind that if they are hit by a critical, they will almost always instantly die.
To farm this achievement, get a soldier to rocket jump a bunch. Eventually, he’ll reach a low enough health that he’ll die on impact. Heal him as he falls, and he’ll get the achievement. It’s a fairly easy achievement to get if you know what to do. You can also do it with the demoman.
Tip: In order for it to count as saving him from death, he has to be at a low enough health at the apex of the jump to die by hitting the ground.
Triage
Deploy an Übercharge on a teammate less than a second before they are hit by a critical explosive
This one can be very easy to get, if you pay attention. Play 2Fort, and stay in the towers. Watch your sniper buddies. If you see a critical rocket heading their way (not an uncommon occurrence), wait until right before it hits and then activate an über. You should get the achievement. Another good time to do it as a teammate passes by a critical sticky. Finally, if you über someone in a cluster of soldiers and demos, chances are you will get the achievement.
To farm this achievement, find someone with the Kritzkrieg. Have them charge their über and then use it on a soldier. Have the soldier shoot a rocket at you and a teammate, and activate the über right before it hits. You should get the achievement right away.
Tip: Explosives are currently the soldier’s rocket and the demoman’s grenades and pipe bombs.
Group Health
Work with two other medics to deploy three simultaneous Übercharges
This one is rare to get without cooperating to farm. However, if you are attempting it during normal play, just attach to a heavy or soldier that already has a few medics on him. When you see an über get deployed on him deploy your own. Someone will probably see you, realize you are trying to get the achievement, and toss in the last über, giving you the achievement.
To farm this, makes a team consisting of 3 medics and a soldier. Have the soldier damage himself as you heal him to build über, and then when you all have it, deploy the übercharges. You should instantly get the achievement.
Tip: All of the übers must be on the same person
Play Doctor
In a team with no Medics, be first to switch to Medic after a teammate calls medic and heal 500 health
This one can be easy, but you have to be playing on a server with no medics on your team. When you hear a call for medic, instantly switch. Run up to the shouter and heal them, as they should need the heal and it will put you closer to Grand Rounds. Continue to be a good medic, and you should get the achievement without any issues whatsoever, and in no time at all. The key is to find a server with no medics.
To farm this, get a single heavy on your team, and nobody else. Have him call for medic, and switch to medic. Then heal him 500 points. You should get the achievement extremely easily, and will (of course) progress one more closer to Grand Rounds.
Tip: This doesn’t count either the size of the team, or if there are medics on the other team. It only applies to your own team, regardless of size.
Does It Hurt When I Do This?
Kill fifty Scouts with your syringe gun
This one can be hard in regular play, just by virtue of taking a very long time. Whenever you see a scout, whip out your syringe gun and plaster him with needles. Eventually, you will have killed 50, and will have the achievement. Good places to catch scouts unaware are while they are capping control points or in a flag room.
To grind this, just have the opposing team play all scouts. Then mow them down continually with your syringe gun. It’s very easy to farm with cooperation. Just keep in mind that it doesn’t have to be all in a single life, so you can quit and come back to farm the rest of it later.
Tip: You can’t use the Blütsauger. It has to be the original syringe gun.
Preventative Medicine
Block the enemy from capturing a control point with an übercharged teammate.
This one is sort of luck-based to acquire in normal play, considering the fickle nature of unlocking the achievement. Basically, an enemy must be capturing the point, and you must über a teammate who then runs onto the point while übered. You can’t block the capture and then über. It won’t count towards the achievement. As for where to do this, just play defense on any map that is divided into Attackers and Defenders (like granary) and you should be set up perfectly for this achievement.
To farm this achievement, have an enemy stand on a point you control after you have built up your übercharge. Deploy your über, then have your buddy run onto the point. Voila, instant achievement. Rather simple, really, and relatively painless. You may have to try a few times, however, as the achievement trigger is finicky.
Tip: The über must be from the medigun, not the kritzkrieg.
Second Opinion
Ubercharge two teammates at once.
This is a pretty difficult achievement to pull off. Farming this or doing it normally is the same process, so there won’t be a separation of which to do. Basically, find or arrange two teammates that are standing next to each other. Charge up your uber, and then uber one. Shortly after the medigun locks onto the teammate (about 1 second of uber) stop ubering that teammate and switch to the one next to him. If you do it fast enough, you will have two teammates ubered at the same time, giving you the achievement.
Tip: As always, the Kritzkrieg doesn’t count towards uber.
Double Blind Trial
Deploy an Ubercharge within eight seconds of a nearby enemy medic deploying his
This one is very easy to do. Attach to somebody and get to the front lines. Get your uber charged, and make sure to stay alive. When you see an enemy medic deploy his uber, deploy yours. Easy to do, even if you aren’t paying attention due to the heat of battle. Keep in mind that if you or the enemy is ubering with the Kritzkrieg instead of the normal medigun, the achievement won’t work.
To farm this achievement, get an enemy medic to charge his uber, and charge your own. Once the enemy medic deploys his, deploy yours. You will get the achievement. The ubercharge doesn’t have to have a target, it just has to be deployed.
Tip: It can be 8 seconds before or after an enemy medic deploys his uber. So if you deploy it and the enemy does, you will still get the achievement.
Autopsy Report
Provide an enemy with a freezecam shot of you taunting above their ragdoll
This is an entertaining one, and depends entirely on the other player. Basically, you have to give a player a screenshot of you taunting over their corpse. To count towards the achievement, the screenshot must contain you performing your taunt as well as any body part of the dead player’s corpse in the picture. If you are not preforming the taunt at the point the freezecam occurs, or the body can’t be seen, the achievement will not unlock.
To do this normally, you have to give up being a normal medic. Whip out your syringe gun and bonesaw and get some killing done. After each kill, no matter where you are, run to the corpse and taunt. This is only effective at close range, so the bonesaw is your best bet for reaching the body in time.
To farm this, just get an enemy willing to screencap you after you kill them. Bonesaw them to death, run forward, and taunt over the body. It is best done near a wall, because the time to do the taunt is within a second and a half after performing the kill.
Note: The dead player has to take a screenshot (by pressing F5) of the freezecam taunt. Otherwise it doesn’t count. You also have to be the one doing the killing.
Bedside Manner
Be healing a teammate as he achieves an achievement of his own
This one is almost sheer luck to obtain. To do it normally, just run around healing people. Chances are one of them will eventually get an achievement, netting you Bedside Manner. If you are observant, look for people that are trying to obtain achievements and hel them. These are your only two options, really.
To farm this, get a teammate without Autoclave, a pyro, and 5 enemies. Have the teammate farm the Autoclave achievement while you heal him, and you will get the achievement. This is just one example of an achievement that is easy to get that you can use to obtain Beside Manner. In reality, any achievement that is easy to obtain will do for farming.
Tip: They can be the original 18 achievements. It doesn’t have to be the 36 medic achievements.
Grand Rounds
Heal two hundred teammates after they have called for Medic
This one is a pain to get normally. basically, if you see someone shout medic, run to them and heal them real quick. You don’t have to heal them all the way, just quickly heal a few points and then continue on your way. Eventually you’ll get it.
To farm this one, get a team of all medics. Have them continually spam the medic call (default: e) and just rapidly switch between them. While it takes a bit of time, it takes significantly less time to farm than doing the achievement normally.
Tip: You can’t just have the person you are healing yell medic constantly while you are locked on. However, if he yells medic, you heal him and stop, and he yells again, it counts. It’s only if you are currently healing somebody calling for medic that it doesn’t count.
Midwife Crisis
Heal an Engineer as he repairs his sentry gun while it’s under enemy fire
This one can be hard, mostly because if a sentry gun is under fire, it will normally be destroyed before you can get there. But here’s how to do it normally. Attach to an engineer and stay with him as he builds up his stuff. If he is a defensive engineer, he will stay with the sentry and guard it, making sure it stays fine. Stay with him. When the sentry gun comes under attack, make sure you are healing him. It’s a hard achievement to time correctly, because the timing on what counts for “sentry gun under fire” is a little odd. So just make sure you are continually healing.
To farm this, get your engineer to build a level 1 sentry behind a wall or something so that enemy players can strafe in and out of its line of sight. Get a medic, heavy, or sniper to shoot the sentry with their automatic weapons, as that’s the easiest way to get it to count as “under fire”. Have the engineer repair it while you heal him. Instant achievement.
Tip: The engineer doesn’t actually have to be hurt, you just have to be healing him. This counts for both Kritzkrieg and medigun.
Thanks for the tips But your Numbers of kill are wrong unless the changed them.ÂÂ
