8.7
Rating

Not to be confused with Corsair’s 4000D, the FRAME 4000D is an evolution of their standard case concept that integrates some subtle and not-so-subtle changes to the overall design language that makes the case. But with the external still bearing much of what made the 4000D part of Corsair’s larger case family, the FRAME series introduces a modular concept that sees members of this lineup receiving massive internal overhauls.

Today we’ll be looking at the Corsair FRAME 4000D chassis, specifically the base variation which is the bare bones case. It also comes in RS and RS ARGB variants that preinstalls Corsair’s performance RS fans that have standard power and RGB connector and only see the case taking a mild price bump.

The Frame 4000D’s primary feature is its modularity but its high-airflow design coupled with its Infinirail fan mounting system are also a highlight. In this review, we’ll go over the details of this case and see where Corsair is planning to take their case design to. Read on!

Features  & Specification

  • FRAME Modular Case System – The revolutionary FRAME system gives new meaning to the word customisation. Want to upgrade the motherboard tray to billet aluminum? Want to swap out your front I/O panel for more USB ports? Now you can. A case that can change and grow with your needs (or just your mood). The options are nearly limitless.
  • CORSAIR InfiniRail Fan Mounting System – This steel multi-point mounting system offers unmatched flexibility in front and roof fan configuration. Simply slide the rail to mount fans up to 200mm (140mm in the roof) wherever you like, ensuring targeted airflow.
  • Clean Lines or Turbo Cooled – The internal side panel near the motherboard tray can be used as a cable cover for clean cable management, or you can remove it and mount fans to the side for increased cooling potential.
  • 3D Y-Pattern Airflow Panel – Optimized for high airflow and minimal restriction, the steel front panel is perforated in three dimensions with a Y-pattern that provides a low-obstruction path for cool air.
  • Dual 360mm Radiator Support – Take your cooling to the next level with three mounting locations for 360mm radiators (front, roof, and side). Mount up to twelve 120mm fans simultaneously to keep cool air flowing in and hot air exhausting quickly and efficiently.
