Introduction

We reviewed the ADATA SC610 External SSD in the past and noted how its retractable USB-A connector was a callback to the days of similar USB flash drives. With a USB3.2 Gen2 rating, I expected that drive to achieve those speeds but it certainly was a bit conserative. Today we have the ADATA SC750, another USB3.2 Gen2 external SSD but this time around it rocks a similar body to that of the SE880, a true USB3.2 Gen2x2 device. With a retractable USB-C connector, the ADATA SC750 is positioned as a plug-in expansion for mobile devices like phones and laptops.

iPhone and Android devices that cap out at 128GB or 256GB and want a quick hit can utilize USB-C storage devices to get expanded storage. This means that if you need to clear a 100GB or so on your phone, can just dump your entire DCIM folder on your phone to a USB-C drive and you should be golden and ready to take more videos.

This is what the SC750 intends to be but as an external SSD it also comes with all the benefits of an SSD so read on to find out more if the ADATA SC750 is right for you. Read on!

Right out of the box, the SC750 presents itself with a sleek, minimalist exterior. It resembles the ADATA SE880 that we previously reviewed but is slightly smaller. There is literally no package here, just the SSD so once you open the box you’re all set. It works straight-out with any compatible device.

The drive’s slim form factor fits neatly in hand or in a laptop sleeve, which is particularly advantageous for frequent travelers or on-the-go professionals. ADATA has opted for a metal-based construction that provides a durable shell, adding a layer of protection against minor bumps and scrapes.

A retracting mechanism allows the connector to be hidden when not in use. In actuality, this suggests that the entire SSD PCB is mounted on a sliding rail that pushes it in or out for use.

ADATA’s reputation for solid-state storage reliability is apparent in the SC750. It leverages proven NAND flash technology, offering dependable performance over time. Heat dissipation appears well-managed in typical operating conditions, meaning the drive remains cool and stable under moderate to heavy loads. These factors collectively inspire confidence for professionals and hobbyists who value their data’s integrity.

The SC750’s slim profile and light weight make it convenient to carry alongside other essentials. For creative professionals frequently moving between studio and field locations, or travelers needing fast backup options, the SC750 offers an unobtrusive and practical solution. Being bus-powered, it requires no additional power adapters, further simplifying connectivity.

User Experience & Conclusion

The ADATA SC750 is an understated yet brilliant choice for those wanting a straightforward, portable, and confidently built external SSD. It has the performance to satisfy even the busiest data junkies, and it slips into your life without fuss. Whether you’re moving big files for your editing gig or just managing that ever-expanding game library, the SC750 is a reliable companion, akin to how Paul Heyman’s counsel never fails his superstars.

If you’re in the market for a good balance of speed, durability, and sleek design, the SC750 should definitely be on your list. I tip my hat (and bag) to its portability — and so should you as this SSD leaves me similarly impressed… in its own quiet, unassuming way. Sure, it’s pedestrian but its functionally excellent at what it does.

For those looking for compact storage for travel that can work on both their phones and laptops, the ADATA SC750 is a small device with a big punch, championing convenience and reliability for anyone who needs SSD speed on tap.

The ADATA SC750 is available now in the Philippines via authorized dealers and via online stores namely the ADATA Authorized Store,

ADATA backs the SC750 with a 5-year manufacturer warranty. I give it my B2G Recommended Seal.
