One of the most frustrating games that I’ve played on my Android phone recently is Devil Barber and yet I can’t seem to stop playing it. The object of the game is pretty simple. You have to sneakily adjust the hairstyle of the customer without the angel noticing it. This is done by placing your finger anywhere on the screen.
GAMEPLAY
Start off by choosing a customer from among a gallery of photos. As you finish each customer, the next customer will be unlocked.
Then, let the angel do the styling. You’ll see thought bubbles appear near her head to signal that she’s about to do something.Â
As soon as she does something, touch the screen. The moment you do, you’ll see a timer start at the middle part of the screen. This will show the progress of you changing the hairstyle of the customer.
Each time you get a turn, awesome rock music begins playing and the background becomes black.
Watch out though, as I have tried to master avoiding several times, if the angel catches you fiddling with the customer’s hair..you’ll get thrown into angel prison.
Here’s one thing to keep in mind. Each time that you sneakily do some hairstyling, the progress bar fills up. As soon as it’s the angel’s turn, the progress bar slowly empties out. This also signifies the amount of time that you have to finish the level. Â If you run out of time, you fail the level.
Each successful hairdo earns you access to the next customer and the surprised face of the angel. It took me several times and frustrating tries but I think it adds to the whole experience. It gets pretty satisfying to be able to do mischief.
Devil Barber is a free Android game that is simple yet incredibly addicting. While the Play Store is dominated by shooting, running and matching games, this was a refreshing change.
