With the album release being postponed on the exact date it was to be released, the fans are not impressed. But MNL48’s fans at least have Manila Idol Matsuri to look forward to.

Aitakatta is the signature song of the highest selling idol group in Japan and MNL48’s sister group, AKB48. The song was the first major single of the group and topped the Oricon Singles Chart, the Japanese music industry standard singles popularity chart, in 2006.
Members leaving the group is a common occurence in the idol industry. Being an idol isn’t for everyone, and it’s not some “after-school” activity that some fans think it to be. Not many girls can handle the stress and demands of the job, the training, the lack of privacy and intrusion of the fans, the rumor-mongering, the unrealistic demands of the fans, and a management who seems to love making twists for the sake of it.
Inspired by the tradition of its sister group, AKB48, MNL48 will be having its first General Election on April 28 to determine the membersโ hierarchy in the group.
The unthinkable has happened. The audition has become a reality show. An organizational mess, bashed by the “normies”, mostly abandoned by the wotas. A severe miscalculation threatens to undermine one of the biggest brands in Japanese idol history, threatening to doom MNL48 before it even started.
