Talk2Gaming: Do You Think the Local E-Sports Scene is Getting Better or Not?

HaosonBy HaosonJuly 13, 20127 Comments1 Min Read

Lately it would seem that the local gaming scene has had one tournament after another.  It would seem that the local E-Sports scene is getting some wind. What do you guys think though? Do you guys think that this is the year where our local E-sports scene would be getting it’s legs and maybe, just maybe get things moving?

Do you agree or not? What say you?

Hope there would be another Event that can be as good (if not better) that of the MSI’s. Support e-Sports!

Yeah I’m hoping that there’s an event of that caliber as well

The level of eSports here is definitely growing. No matter what game you play, you gotta appreciate the intensity, tenacity and skills that our local homegrown players put into their game. I give them much props for being where they are now with their skills.

My biggest beef with the local eSports scene isn’t so much about the entire scene but more on the attitude of gamers themselves. Sure, its easy to say that most of us Internet-dwelling gamers are a bit more refined than computer-shop tambay types, but hey I grew up as one of those kids back in the CStrike days and I’ve managed to tone myself down during LAN games. My point is that the majority of the best gamers we have right now, specifically in the DOTA leagues, are the most uncivilized people in the entire world.

I dare anyone to prove me wrong about what I said. The main reason there’s a dedicated PH server in nearly every game is because of the bad rap every Pinoy gamers getting due to the acts of our fellow countrymen being total idiots online. The game hasn’t even started and you see cuss words flying out left and right.

Back to the main topic, yeah eSports is definitely growing here in the PH pero ilang taon pa aantayin naten bago tumino ugali ng players mismo para export material na.
