Another stop in our visit over at GIGABYTE’s VIP Conference for Computex 2015 was over at the VGA and AIVIA gaming peripherals section where we were treated to a display of the latest GIGABYTE graphics card and one of the new mechanical gaming keyboards hitting shelves soon.
There really isn’t much going on over at the GIGABYTE VGA showcase except for their new custom-cooled GTX 980 Ti. We’ve taken a look at the reference GTX 980 Ti and noted of the massive need for better cooling to improve performance. GIGABYTE whips out the WINDFORCE X3 cooler and gives it a bit of a cosmetic retouch adorning it with silver accents on the sides reminiscent of the Susanowo mobile suit from Gundam 00. GIGABYTE also equips the card with a backplate with the G1 GAMING branding. The card is dubbed the GIGABYTE GTX 980 Ti G1 GAMING (GV-N98TG1 GAMING-6GD) and will be factory overclocked with a Boost clock of 1241Mhz in normal mode and will go up to 1291Mhz in OC mode using the new OC GURU II overclocking utility for GIGABYTE VGA cards. The card is cooled by a WINDFORCE 600W cooling system ft. Fan Stop mode with LED fan indicators.
We have this exact card in the labs right now for testing and we look forward to sharing you our review.
GIGABYTE also shows off their custom waterblocks used for their monstrous Waterforce cooling solution for VGAs. This giant liquid cooled VGAs feature closed-loop coolers that have custom-made blocks that cool all vital components instead of just the GPU to maximize the cooling benefit of the liquid loop. We’ve yet to get confirmation if GB VGA is planning to release a Waterforce edition of the GTX 980 Ti.
Amongst the display of AIVIA and Force gaming peripherals is the new FORCE K83 mechanical gaming keyboard from GIGABYTE. This new product is as straight-up basics as it gets. No rainbow lights, no lights at all, no macros. Its all essentials, perfect for tournament players, budget gamers and office use. GIGABYTE uses Cherry MX red for the FORCE K83 and no news of other switch variants’ availability has been announced.
