By now, anyone who’s ever owned or used a Razer product should be familiar with the company’s highly visible and outspoken co-founder/CEO/creative director, Min Liang Tan. The man chiefly behind the design of Razer’s range of gaming hardware and peripherals was recently in the country to take part in this year’s Pinoy Gaming Festival. With that, we got the honor of sitting down and interviewing him at Razer’s media event held at the Midas Hotel & Casino down in Pasay about a week ago. And man, it was quite an experience.
For this session, we decided to take things light and easy while occasionally picking his brain on topics like his creative process, how the company’s beta testing works, and Razer’s involvement in the Philippines’ growing e-sports scene. We also got to geek out over stuff like his musical tastes, favorite games of this generation, and what he’s looking forward to as we move into the next generation of console hardware with the impending launches of the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
Of course, we couldn’t leave without asking other burning questions, including getting his side regarding a somewhat recent online kerfuffle and the fabled kitchen appliance that a whole bunch of people have been asking for. To top it all off, we must give the guy credit for being such a blast to talk to. So, what are you waiting for? Hit play on the embedded audio below and listen away!
