It is with great sadness that I find myself penning the hardest news post I’ve ever needed to write here at AnandTech. After over 27 years of covering the wide – and wild – word of computing hardware, today is AnandTech’s final day of publication.
Ryan Smith, Anandtech Editor-in-ChiefAnandtech has officially shut down today, August 30th of 2024. Following almost 3 decades of excellent reporting, analysis and reviews of computing products, the website has announced that they will cease publication. Ryan Smith writes a brief history, a farewell and a thank you note in Anandtech’s final article.
For my younger audience, video reviews were quite inaccessible back in my days and the closest we had to tech Youtube was the The Screen Savers on network TV. While I was tinkering with PCs already back in my high school years back in 2003, the first time I had to review something was 2008. And that was when I was introduced to Anandtech.
Along with a few other websites, Anandtech served up some of the most compelling articles about computing hardware, which helped me intially in my first job and as I transitioned into running my own tech website.
Anandtech’s website will be kept online by current owner and publisher, Future PLC while the Anandtech Forums will be kept open for continued use.
Sincerest thank you to the editorial team for their work and everyone who has been part of Anandtech’s illustrious career. You help shaped my career.
Thank you.
