Games have always been a great way to relax. They let you focus on something other than what’s stressing you out. You can break away from real life for a while. That’s especially true over the past few years with the release of ‘cosy games.’ There have been countless of these released in the last few years.

Some have been around even longer than you’d think. Many of these relaxing games can be worth trying if you need to deal with a bit of stress.

If you’re feeling more stressed than you’d want, it’s worth spending a bit of time with them. That begs the question as to what the best games to relax are. While there are countless options to go with, some could stand out more than others. Five of these could be more relaxing than you’d think.

It’s worth diving into each of them. You could end up relaxing quite a bit.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

One of the more obvious relaxing games in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It’s one of the first picks that comes to peoples’ minds. Countless people have played this before and seen just how relaxing it can be. It offers much more of an escapist fantasy than you’d expect, letting you get away for a while.

Since this is played in real-time, you might have to wait to do a few things. Despite that, you could end up enjoying it and relaxing quite a bit. The slowness of everything is what helps with this, so you don’t feel the stress of rushing through everything.

Euro Truck Simulator 2

Everyone knows how relaxing a long drive can be, but few people are in a position to take advantage of it. Thankfully, that doesn’t mean you’re out of options. Euro Truck Simulator 2 lets you do exactly that while also letting you see a pixelated version of countless countries. It’s worth trying.

It offers all of the benefits of a long drive through a country without any of the drawbacks. Adding in a racing wheel helps with this even more so you can take full advantage of what the game offers. Just make sure to follow driving rules when you’re playing.

Mahjong

While not a traditional video game, Mahjong can always help you relax. You can even play it on most devices, so you shouldn’t have a problem getting going with it. This isn’t too complicated to get started with, and it can help you zone out more than you might’ve thought.

Since this isn’t too complicated of a game, you could end up relaxing more than you would with other games. You’ll be de-stressing more and more as time goes on. What more could you want than a relaxing game that you don’t have to spend too much time on?

Little Kitty, Big City

Cats always seem like they have a relaxing life. It’s almost impossible to see one that’s stressed. Why not try to live the day in the life of a cat? With Little Kitty, Big City, you’ll dive straight into this. An adventure game where you play as a game, there’s no reason why this can’t help you relax.

This is a low-stakes game where you don’t need to think too much about what you’re doing. You’ll get to roam around the game’s world doing whatever you’d like. Even after a few minutes, you could feel more relaxed than you would’ve thought.

Stardew Valley

Who hasn’t thought about getting away from life and living on a farm? While that’s a big move, it doesn’t mean you have to actually dive into it. Instead, you could just spend a few hours with Stardew Valley, and you’re off to the races. You’ll relax before you know it.

An amazing farm simulator, it’s a calming game you can play at your own pace. There’s something about taking your time and managing your own farm that helps people de-stress. It’ll offer all of the benefits of farm life without any of the drawbacks to worry about.

Games can help you relax quite a bit. That doesn’t mean all of them help as much as the others. Some relaxing games stand out much more than others. Not only should they help you de-stress, but they’ll be a lot more fun than you’d think.

With the right relaxing games, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be more and more relaxed. It could even just take a few minutes before you’re feeling it. Why not give them a go?
