ARC Raiders (note the stylization) was announced earlier today at The Game Awards 2021 and will be the first game from former EA Design Chief Patrick Soderlund. Soderlund now heads Embark Studios in Stockholm, Sweden and the studio’s first will be a sci-fi, third-person shooter and the game will be free-to-play.
ARC Raiders will pit player squads serving as resistance forces as they defend the last bastion of humanity. The game seems to be a PVE and will pit players versus the ARC: space mechs dropping from space and players will face the ARCs in increasingly challenging waves of enemies that will start with light drones and then transition to tankier enemies which include giant spider-like mechas. A tease of a harder enemy in the form of a gigantic walker mech. The trailer is played to the tune of Swedish artist Robyn’s Dancing on my Own which gives a subtle retro touch which jives well with ARC Raider’s 1980s television colors .
ARC Raiders will release on PC via Epic Game Store and Steam as well GeForce NOW and will also be available on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series S | X. Find out more from the official website: https://arcraiders.com
