Gaming Events To Visit In 2023

Gaming fans are spoilt for choice in 2023, with the upcoming calendar packed with numerous top-class events that are well worth checking out.

Whether you are looking for details about the latest innovations or keen to watch elite level eSports, the next 12 months has something to suit every taste.

With that in mind, read on as we take a closer look at some of the must-visit gaming events set to be staged across the world during 2023.

ICE London – February 7-9

Join an international community of more than 35,000 people as the prestigious ICE London event is staged at ExCel London in early February.

Visitors to ICE London can gain premier access to the latest innovations, technology developments and expert insights into the iGaming industry.

More than 650 companies will be exhibiting new products at the event, while there are also more than 50 networking sessions on the agenda.

With plenty of educational opportunities available via the innovative ICE VOX programme, this is an event anyone with a vested interest in gaming cannot afford to ignore.

The Game Expo – March 11-12

If you are based in the southern hemisphere, The Game Expo (TGX) at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in March is an unmissable event.

Whether you are looking for information about the latest online pokies in Australia or simply want to celebrate gaming, TGX is well worth a visit.

Competition is a central element of TGX, providing gamers with a plethora of opportunities to test themselves in an extensive range of tournaments.

TGX also prides itself on its inclusive nature, providing everyone from any background a safe platform to meet and interact with like-minded individuals.

London Games Festival – March 29 – April 9

The 2023 London Games Festival will be a multi-day celebration of the art, culture and business of video games.

More than 100,000 people attend LGF which is widely viewed as the most useful event in the world for businesses trying to make their way in the industry.

One of the best features of the event is Ensemble, which champions game makers from underrepresented ethnicities and provides them with networking opportunities.

LGF also runs the Accelerator programme, which provides games studio founders with the chance to get business advice as they strive to take a product to market.

League of Legends World Championship – September – November

The League of Legends (LoL) World Championship is one of the most popular events in the eSports calendar, attracting a massive in-person and global streaming audience.

The 2022 event took place across four cities – Mexico City, New York, Toronto and San Francisco, with the latter hosting the finals.

South Korea has been confirmed as the host for the 2023 edition, although the final dates and venues have not yet been announced.

DRX won the 2022 League of Legends World Championship, becoming the first ever team to win the title as the fourth seed and from the play-in bracket.

Global Gaming Expo (G2E) – October 9-12

First launched in 2001, the annual Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas is firmly established as one of the most important and influential events in the calendar.

Nearly 25,000 global iGaming professionals including suppliers and operators attended the prestigious event at the Venetian Expo last year.

The show featured more than 350 exhibitors spread across 252,000 square feet, while the education section of the event staged over 80 interactive sessions.

From information about the latest innovations to networking opportunities and more, G2E remains the largest exhibition for the iGaming sector in North America.

EGX London – October 12-15

EGX London is the largest celebration of video gaming in the United Kingdom, offering four days packed with everything you need to know about the industry.

Staged at the ExCel in London, the event features unmissable panel sessions with industry leading guests discussing a vast array of topics.

Top-class developers share exclusive insights into their latest creations, making this the ideal event for any passionate video gaming fan.

With playable games, retro games, indie games, career talks, education, networking and more, EGX London is one of the best gaming events of the year.

The International 12 – Date TBA

Details about The International 12 remain sketchy, but there have been strong rumours the event will finally be returning to North America in 2023.

The season-ending showpiece for the best exponents of DOTA 2 is one of the most lucrative eSports events around, with last year’s prize pool almost topping $19 million.

Seattle has been touted as the most likely host for the event, marking the first time it has been staged in the United States since 2017.

The recently renovated Climate Pledge Arena is the favourite to be chosen as the venue for The International 12, although developers Valve are yet to make a final decision.
