PC Specs to Consider When Buying a Gaming PC

Pc Specs To Consider When Buying A Gaming Pc

A PC with dedicated gaming hardware, visual quality, and high resolution is the best way to enjoy today’s high-level games. But there are many gaming PC brands on the market, from AMD to Nvidia to Alienware to MSI to Razor. This makes it hard to know which gaming PC is ideal, especially if you’re a novice.

Luckily, this guide will help you narrow your options. We’ll discuss the key specs to consider when buying a gaming PC, from graphics to RAM.

Let’s get started.

1. Processor and RAM

The processor serves as the computer’s core— it’s responsible for interpreting and carrying out all instructions issued to the system. The efficiency of a processor depends on its core and speed. A gaming PC processor speed should range from 3,200 to 3,600 MHz.

RAM determines the performance of a PC. The higher the RAM, the better the performance. While 8GB RAM can run a modern game, 16GB is well suited to play games without encountering bottlenecks. The least recommended speed of a gaming PC RAM is DDR4.

The best thing is that gaming PCs can be used for office and home projects. You can do video editing, data entry, or even stream real time high-resolution casino games for fun when you are not gaming. To find these exciting games there are comparison sites that list the best online pokies in Australia for real money. You’ll find well-curated guidelines on how to find reputable casinos where you can play real online pokies. You can also find bonuses as well as guides on how to play different casino games responsibly.

2. Graphics Cards

Graphics cards are the most important components of gaming PCs, enabling you to play games at high resolutions. While most games run at 1080p, consider graphics cards that can play at a minimum 4K resolution.

The memory of the graphics cards matters, too. A graphic card with 8GB memory or more will give you a better gaming experience. Also, consider graphics cards with higher VRAM, a dedicated RAM that only boosts the performance of PC’s graphics cards. Unlike regular RAM, you cannot upgrade VRAM.

Graphics cards like the RTX 40-series are best suited for playing games at 4k or ultra-high resolutions. The RX 6000 from AMD is a lower-end graphic card that can play games at 1080p or slightly lower resolutions. There’s also the RX 7000 series that offers next-gen performance, visuals, and efficiency.

3. Hard Drive

You are not alone if you need clarification about what type of hard drive a gaming PC should have. A gaming PC should use a solid-state drive (SSD). Gaming PCs with SSD storage and a hard disk drive (HDD) are the best buy, but never buy one with HDD only.

SSD storage reduces game loading time by allowing the PC to read game files faster. And higher SSD storage results in improved performance. While 256 SSD storage can support high-quality games, you’ll need more space to upgrade or install more games.

For example, installing the Call of Duty: Vanguard requires 100GB of space. A gaming PC with at least 512 GB of storage is ideal for running multiple games. Installing more hard drive space is also possible, so rest assured you can install large games on your PC.

4. Cost

The last factor to consider when buying a gaming PC is cost. This solely depends on your budget and the specs you are looking for. You can buy a budget gaming PC for as little as $500, while a high-end PC can cost up to $5,000.

The more you spend, the higher the chances of getting high-quality gaming PC components. Between $500 and $1,000, you can buy a gaming PC that handles low-resolution or old games.

For a budget ranging from $1,000 to $1,500, you can get a gaming PC that supports modern games at 1080p. A $ 1,500 to $3,000 budget can get you a PC that supports high-resolution games of up to 4k.

Lastly, with $ 3,000 to $ 5,000, you can buy a gaming PC that supports ultra-high gaming resolutions (3840×2160 and 7680×4320 pixels). Such PCs can accommodate future game upgrades and larger games.

What Else Should You Invest in After Buying a Gaming PC?

You need more than a gaming PC to play the latest or popular titles. Here are the extra consoles you need to invest in:

  • Monitor. Remember that most gaming PCs come without a monitor. You’ll have to check your budget to buy a gaming monitor with high input lag and refresh rate. For example, the Alienware gaming monitor has 500Hz, making it a perfect buy. The lowest refresh rate is 60Hz, although modern games run better on 120Hz, 144Hz, 165Hz, and 240Hz.
  • Gaming peripherals. After buying a gaming PC, gamepads, keyboards, mice, and headsets are important consoles. A mechanical gaming keyboard is ideal for fast-paced games. Gaming mice have superior speed and programmable buttons.

To have a better gaming experience, consider creating a conducive gaming space in your living room or bedroom.

Find the Best Gaming PC

Gaming has become a mainstream source of extra income and entertainment. Pro gamers looking to make gaming a full-time source of income must invest in high-quality gaming PCs. Luckily, we’ve given you the best hacks to help you buy a quality gaming PC. Always check the hard drive, processor, RAM, graphics card, and cost when buying a new gaming PC.
