AMD Acknowledges USB Issues on 500-Series Chipset Boards

AMD confirms there is a problem with some 500-series boards experiencing intermittent USB connections. Those who are experiencing this on affected boards may submit more info to AMD to help them solve the problem. More info in this article.

In a Reddit post, AMD confirms and acknowledges an issue regarding intermittent USB connectivity on their 500-series chipset (X570, B550, B520). Affected users were asked to provide more information to help AMD gather more information regarding this problem.

Reports regarding the issue involve an inconsistent connection on USB ports on affected machines. Systems with PCIe Gen4 GPUs have reportedly fixed the issue by switching to Gen3 speeds. AMD is reaching out to more users experience intermittent USB connections. People that experience their devices dropping out or disconnecting randomly on an AMD machine can submit reports directly through AMD’s Online Service Request portal.
