NVIDIA announced their own dedicated mining graphics card back in February with their CMP HX GPUs. While these have yet to become available, information are coming in that AMD is planning to release their own graphics cards dedicated for cryptocurrency mining.
The latest patch of AMD Direct Rendering Manager which is a subsystem of the Linux kernel and handles the connection between GPUs, it was spotted that a Navi 12 entry is listed. While this can be taken as just a general update as the SKU is available for Apple PCs as the Radeon Pro 5600M, signs are pointing towards AMD’s possible utilization of their older RDNA products for use with mining graphics card, particularly Navi 12 and Navi 10.
Sources stated back in November that AMD is preparing three Radeon SKUs particularly for the RX 5700 XTB, RX5700B and the RX 5500XTB wherein the “B” in the model naming denotes blockchain. No confirmed specs are revealed but as already mentioned, these cards will be based off the older RDNA GPUs.
