The official reveal trailer for Call of Duty: WWII, the latest installment in the COD franchise and is developed by Sledgehammer Games, is finally out and together with a global launch event, streamed online, has shed numerous lights on what the game will be all about.
Call of Duty: WWI will be available for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One and will be available at November 3, 2017.
The story puts players in the role of Ronald “Red” Daniels, US Army rookie Private in the 1st Infantry Division also known as the Fighting First. Players will witness World War II from Red’s perspective in the game’s single player campaign. A co-op mode has been mentioned to be in the planning stages for this game mode as well.
Multiplayer mode on the other hand will include objective-based capture and defend modes. A community and social hub dubbed Headquarters will serve as the game’s community center.
It has been 10 years since the last World War II-based Call of Duty title and COD:WWII aims to bring a more modern touch to the concept that helped propel Call of Duty to its status today. Call of Duty last dipped in the WWII conflict with World at War and has since branched off to include the Cold War and fictitious present conflicts as well as the future. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was a big shift for the franchise and has become the iconic flagship of the series, receiving an HD remaster together with last year’s release.
